QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

I think the important take away from this is not the score but how the "rumor" of his score was reported.

The rumor of a 27 barely registered with the national media
The rumor of a 7 and it is all over the place

In my IMHO either score is a big story and should be reported equally. Either the story is "wow, he is smarter than we thought" Or "he is as dumb as we thought"

How so...

You seem to be suffering from Michigan Syndrome, characterized by the delusion that they are pursuing challenging majors.

These guys major in football with a second major in something very manageable and generally only mildly useful. Those who balance the two majors with a good gpa are awarded with honors.

Not because they are academically elite, but because they kept up their grades while focusing on football.

T.P. majored in criminology, that is no walk in the park...
People say that about kinesiology too, yet there's a reason UM steers athletes into that school (and why UM administrators are sick of them doing so).

I'm not saying he's taking fake classes or just turning in essays. What I'm saying is that a 3.2 by a student athlete is a different entity than a 3.2 by a regular undergraduate.

Their pursuits are different. Degrees are typically the third thing they fall back upon after their collegiate career. Pro pursuits, school networking & then their degree.
