QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Strange Terrelle doesn't know the words to the fight song after three years.

Kind of disgusting that it's attack, attack, attack by ESPN, then welcomes one of the people they were attacking for a TV special (all about money).

The theme of the special is pretty obvious. Gruden is the players' coach and Rece Davis comes in to bury Ohio State and/or Pryor.

ESPN never requested to interview Cam Newton about his situation.

One thing though, it would be comical if Gruden is trying to get background on Ohio State's traditions (such as Carmen Ohio) for future employment and/or plans at OSU.

Gruden is great. Terrelle comes across as smart, nervous, and remorseful yet you can see at times he gets into it and is having fun.

As someone said ealier "Cam Newton's head just exploded".

Hate what happened with TP and Coach, but these guys are survivors with nothing but silver linings in their clouds.

Its funny when his name was floated about the Ohio State job. There is no way in hell he would coach a college team. Gruden is NFL or bust.

I don't think the clock rules would have a huge effect on his decision on whether to coach at the NFL or College level..he was just giving Terrelle a hard time.

It does really seem from watching the Gruden specials..both with the college qbs entering the NFL and even when he did his bit last year at his kids high school that he could do a good job/feel comfortable coaching younger guys in that college type atmosphere. Maybe he doesn't want to do it..but it seems like he'd be a guy that would thrive..and you can't say that about every NFL guy who has come down to the college ranks.

I think he was referring to not knowing Buckeye Battle-cry or Across the field. At first, I was thinking the same thing, but I've been on the field and heard TP sing the words to Carmen Ohio. While watching the show I was thinking, "how does he not know the fight song." Then I remembered that he was from Pennsylvania. Then I thought about how my roommates and I mumbled through the fight song and Carmen Ohio at games our freshman year until we could finally read and recite all the words during THE GAME.
I also remembered how we mumbled through most of the words of the fight song until we got to, "cheer you as we go, our honor defend we'll fight to the end for O-HI-O." By the end of Junior year, all the songs were well known, but I think that was just because the singing of fight songs is a major activity for fans. I could imagine that players don't have as many opportunities to sing or learn the fight songs especially if they don't have any family members that are entrenched in OSU tradition.

I don't know the fight song either and I certainly wouldn't know it off the top of my head with no music or anything. I don't blame him one bit for that.

I thought the interview was great. Pryor seemed very football smart but still needs a lot of work speaking to the media. He's improved in my opinion. To this day, it blows my mind that people want to anoint Cam Newton as this almighty "quarterback," yet they trash Pryor on his QB shortcomings. Newton can't even call a real play, a snap count, or take snaps under center. "Well his arm is so much better than Pryor's." Show me! Show me NFL throws that Newton hit. Maybe I just haven't seen them. Show me a back shoulder fade that was from under center to the wide side of the field. Show me Cam Newton changing protections and going through progressions.

We all have seen Pryor make bonehead mistakes but I'm telling you, they were decreasing as he moved through here and I have all the confidence in the world in him. I don't have that same confidence in Newton. Newton is an athlete playing QB that hasn't done anything to prove to me that he can be an NFL QB. Not even close. I'd take Pryor over him any day. I'd take Christian Ponder over him as well.
