QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

If Gruden wanted, he could have probably ripped and embarrassed any of the QB's coming in to the draft. I seriously doubt we're getting any true measurement through Gruden's ESPN softball questioning. Just me though.

Your post isn't responsive to Gomer's point, which is that TP will have a good handle on the x's and o's, both in general and certainly vis-a-vis Newton. Are you disputing that?

a wet paper sack would have had a better handle on X's and O's than Cam. I'm not disputing anything other than I think we're getting an extremely watered down Gruden.

I do know it is a watered down "behind the scenes made for TV special" BUT there are segments in this series that can illustrate a little bit of how prepared these kids are as they set off in an effort to find NFL glory. I know they aren't going to show a kid come out to the passing drills and miss every throw by ten yards. I also know that if a kid is not able to effectively communicate even one passing concept when they are on the board, it is a strong indicator that there is an exceptional amount of work to be done for a player to become a decent QB in the NFL.

If you go and watch some of the other guys who have participated in Grudens FFCA special, you can see a major gap between what the Tebow's, Gabbert's and McCoy's did vs what Cam Newton displayed.

I also know that TP has had some strong tutelage with Tress and Sic and if he has a decent football mind, he will be able to get on the board and speak well about a passing concept. I have a couple of plays in mind that I hope he discusses.

I'm guessing he didn't take any public speaking classes while at tOSU. He seems nervous.

Wouldn't you be? He's talking to Jon Gruden on a nationally-televised show about his issues at OSU, and he's getting ready to get a little test of his football knowledge.

If he weren't nervous I'm sure most of you guys would say he sounded like a cocky prick. I've soured on Pryor myself, but holy hell man.

So did they ask Miles about Seastrunk or Lyles, since former assistant Mark Porter (at least) was in contact with Lyles trying to recruit Seastrunk for LSU? Wouldn't questions like "Did LSU receive any recruiting packages from Lyles?" or "Did Lyles try to sell any packaged information to LSU?" be relevant?

Nope. But they did have a segment on his lucky white shoes, which I found to be enlightening. There are times when College Football Live just keeps you on the edge of your seat.

i still find it amusing how ESPN declined an interview with TP if OSU allegations were off limits....but they have no problem airing a half hour special featuring him.

Yeah, the lead-in had me laughing. "We wanted to ask the really tough questions...improper benefits, Ohio State, cars, Ohio State, memorabilia...and so forth, but his agent wouldn't let him, so we at ESPN declined those terms. Okay, here's Pryor reaching out to our own Jon Gruden." Sports journalism at its' finest.

As others have stated earlier in this thread, the smart play for Pryor is to project the "reformed, remorseful, just looking for a chance" image. Whether it's genuine or not, only TP knows.

Pryor turns to Herock to help rehabilitate image
By Len Pasquarelli

June 23, 2011

Terrelle Pryor has reportedly begun the work of rehabilitating his image and public persona and, toward that end, The Sports Xchange has learned that the former Ohio State quarterback will take another significant step in that direction this week.

Pryor is expected to meet in coming days with retired NFL personnel executive Ken Herock in South Florida, possibly as early as Thursday.

A longtime league general manager and personnel director, Herock is the founder of ProPrep, a service that prepares draft eligible players for interviews with potential NFL suitors. Herock does not rehearse players for the interviews, but in one-on-one sessions with prospects, counsels them about what to expect in meetings with club executives. The bulk of his work occurs in the weeks preceding the annual February combine workouts.

While he's no longer a Buckeye, NFL teams will certainly want to hear from Pryor about his alleged misdeeds at Ohio State. (AP)

It is expected that NFL talent evaluators will closely investigate the circumstances under which Pryor allegedly received benefits that violated NCAA regulations, and which prompted him to leave school two weeks ago. Pryor, 22, is expected to apply for entry into the NFL's supplemental draft. The special-cases lottery has yet to be scheduled, but normally is held in July, about 10 days before training camps open.

Any team conducting its due diligence on Pryor is almost certainly going to want to meet with him in advance of the supplemental draft.

The NFL would sign Martin Borman if he could play left tackle. What crap.

They might use something like this in bargaining him down a notch or two, but they could give two shits -- unless he was trading jerseys for tips on the ponies.

To this point, he saved Cam on 2-3 occassions where he didn't need to. Cam paused out of stupidity, and Gruden jumped back in over his questions. You could tell that he didn't like how Mallett handled questions but didn't "really" lay into him when he could. Mallett looked like he was going to cry. Gruden backed off. If he was in a true film study with him, I believe he would have had him in the fetal position.

I was not impressed with Mallett either... and the whole reach of bringing John Daly in as a senior voice of reason just about made me fall out of my chair laughing.

I wanted to say this weeks ago, but refrained. And while TP is not my favorite person in the world right now, to say the least..

It's really a shame. JT had worked with him over the past 3 years for this year, his senior year. It was going to be his "money year" to show off his polish as a passer. The polish that wasn't there when the raw freshman took over the starting job. He was set for a monster year, to break every record, possibly take us to the promised land while adding another Heisman to the schools trophy case.

All over some ink. Christ.
