QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

To that end, does anyone remember his frosh campaign? Was it me or did anyone else notice the stark difference in what happened after a TD when it was from TP and when it was from Todd? And I'm not taking about at the end of the season, I'm talking about just after the SC game. I think that there was a divided team then, and it only got a bit better after that SR class graduated.

That said, it's been his team for a while and the younger guys knew no different. Either way, if this brings the locker room together, then fine. But for as much that went on behind the closed doors at the WHAC, color me not surprised in the least.

Us against the world is one of the very best motivational factors a team can have.....

I would go with a combination of being treated as special and this theory:

Nice link. the bullets just about sum it all up:

Focusing attention
Organizing thoughts and problem solving
Foreseeing and weighing possible consequences of behavior
Considering the future and making predictions
Forming strategies and planning
Ability to balance short-term rewards with long term goals
Shifting/adjusting behavior when situations change
Impulse control and delaying gratification
Modulation of intense emotions
Inhibiting inappropriate behavior and initiating appropriate behavior
Simultaneously considering multiple streams of information when faced with complex and challenging information

At 68 I think I'm still working out the kinks on a several of these.

What I remember is that even against Ohio U, his line couldn't give him time to throw the ball. The next week, against USC, he was a sitting duck. IMO, Tressell had no choice but to put in a mobile QB.

Yes, but that is a separate subject. He was talking about the team demeanor and the reception, or lack thereof, for Pryor.

The 09 team also had a minor senior presence to establish a more typical pecking order, though I'm not sure it mattered. The loaded 08, 09 classes had very big roles extremely early in their careers. The grad assistant coaching Pryor only added to the issue.

Fickell sent a very clear message with the way he handled Pryor's departure.

Pryor had an excellent line but a mediocre crop of WRs. Krenzel was throwing to Gamble, Holmes as his third WR. Smith to Gonzalez, with three draftees next off the bench, and the #6 guy is starting in the NFL.

Pryor had Sanzenbacher in year 1 and turned it over a lot less. After that he had a raw and unfocused carter as his third WR, with an inconsistent Posey as his feature WR. Last year they started over with another inconsistent freshman. This year it was likely going to be more of the same.

I made it quite clear it was the guys besides sanzenbacher that were mediocre by OSU standards. Posey is no Jenkins or Holmes, and Carter/Brown are definitely no Gamble, Gonzo, Robiskie or Sanzenbacher.

No, but the NFL certainly did. I thought Dane played very well for the bucks, but he didn't have game breaker speed or moves. I hope he catches on somewhere (other than the Bengals, I don't wish that on anyone), but the jury seemed pretty decisive in its judgement.

So where do thinkPryor is going to go and what round?

Right now im thinkin the Eagles take the hometown kid in the 3rd round in hopes of getting Vick's successor. I'm having him drafted as a qb because while I think Pryor has the speed for it Im not sure if he has the acceleration to play wr. It's wierd I feel like he was a lot quicker hif freshman year than he is now. Maybe because he started focussing more on his passing game to become a better drop back QB

Dane had multiple concussions. That was definitely a factor in his drafting.

It takes two to tango. Were they not up to OSU standards because they could not run good routs or was the QB not making the correct reads? Were they not fast enough or did they have to adjust to bad throws. Pryor was a terrible "passer" his freshman year. His deep balls were thrown way up in the air turning the receivers into defenders and his throws into jump balls.
