QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

If the basis for wrongdoing is that it's something anyone other than the athlete would not rcv.. I submit:

Is there any record of an OSU student who was taken as a guest to that country club who paid for his own golf?

When I took my son and his buds anywhere to do anything when I came to campus... I paid everything... every time.. for everyone...

so I see this golf stuff as gray area..

plus, the university used to charge me $40K a year for MY SIGNATURE :tongue2:

McDonald: Ohio State's Terrelle Pryor worth supplemental draft pick
By Jerry McDonald

It's a debate that really isn't a debate at all. More of a slam dunk, really.

Similar to the dunks Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw down with regularity as a high school basketball star at Jeannette High in southwestern Pennsylvania.

If you are Al Davis and have a chance to put a once-in-a-generation athlete on the Raiders for the cost of a third-round pick or later, you do it.

If you are Jim Harbaugh, looking to build the talent base and remember Pryor as a guy most of the country thought superior to Andrew Luck as a high school senior, you give the hard sell to general manager Trent Baalke.

The debate over what position Pryor will play isn't a debate at all. Quarterback? Wide receiver? Maybe even an Antonio Gates-type tight end?

Doesn't matter. You worry about that later.

Raiders should be taking hard look at Pryor
By Jerry McDonald - NFL Writer
Sunday, June 12th, 2011 a

I made my case in today?s Bay Area News Group print editions that it?s a no brainer take disgraced Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor in the draft and worry about what position he?ll play later.

That goes for the Raiders and virtually any other team in the league, but when you get right down to it, Pryor would be a classic Al Davis pick.

Pryor?s getting bashed pretty good among talent scouts as being a reach as a quarterback. Maybe so, but a 31-4 record with two BCS bowl wins that included MVP awards is at least worth a look.

I find it remarkable so many people seem to be writing this guy off when he was so comparable to Cam Newton in terms of run-pass skill set and should come at a fraction of the cost in a supplemental draft.

And unlike Newton, Pryor has played a little receiver and looked pretty good doing it.

From what I?ve seen and heard, Pryor will be a third-round pick or later.

He?s got classic Raider speed. Talked at length with Doug Plank the former Bears? safety who as a volunteer assistant last year with the Buckeyes. He said Pryor was the fastest player on the Ohio State roster.

Tebow and Cam went way too early, and I think Pryor will go earlier than "experts" are predicting. If an NFL team is truly interested in drafting him they aren't going to let these "experts" know. Standard draft procedures apply - if you want the guy you are more likely to bad-mouth him. If you don't want him and want some other team to over-spend, you'll talk him up. Haven't heard anyone talking him up.

Tebow has already demonstrated that he'll be effective as a pro, so there's no way he went "way too early." And we can't say at this juncture whether or not Cam Newton went too early. If he becomes a Pro Bowl QB, then he didn't go too early. If he doesn't, then he did.

Yeah when did Tebow do anything of note as a pro so far? And as for Pryor I'm not sure their are a whole lot of Terrelle Pryor fans left after the way things have gone down so far. It will be interesting to see how he turns out ion the pros though.

I think he meant that Tebow and Cam went higher than people were thinking they should, not that they absolutely shouldn't have gone that early. At least that's how I read it. I disagree about Cam though, if I'm right in my interpretation, because everyone expected him to go first.

I'm no Tebow fan, but he didn't look bad at all in his rookie year. Looked better than I expected. I figured he'd need a couple years on the bench to look as good as he did last year.

He definitely showed promise. More than I thought he had.
