QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

TP ran much more physically against Arky and really impressed me with that. I'd like to see him continue that when he comes back next year.

Also, I was much more impressed with his throwing. His arm seemed stronger and he wasn't pushing as much. It looked like he was really "throwing" the football. Maybe I'm just delusional, but he looked like a better passer to me.

I don't know if he's a better pro prospect than Cam, but after one more year in college reading defenses and working on his arm and throwing motion, I wouldn't be surprised.

I do know that if you put Terrelle in Auburn's offense, he'd probably do just as well.

In our offense, give me an ever-improving, defense reading Pryor.

No your not biased. It's the truth. Newton made bad mistakes tonight. Of course no one will bring them up now that they have won. But if they had lost, it would have been a whole different story. He looked less than impressive tonight, and that was against a defense that wasn't that great.

I believe Terrelle is going to be one of the 2 best quarterbacks in the country next year when he comes back. The other being Luck.

Cam looked like he was playing hurt for a large part of the second half. He has a pretty accurate arm for a spread QB.

Terrelle better work hard this summer, because he won't get the number of snaps with the first unit next year that he should.

You are most definitely correct gator. He will have to work his ass off. But I have all the confidence in the world in him after the performance I saw a few nights ago. Facing adversity in the tough times and proving your worth is not an easy thing to do. I am rooting for him to succeed in life and I think it would be a great story if he could manage to accomplish his goals. I think he will become the player we all think he can be on, as well as off, the field. In some ways, he already has.

There is not a whole lot between Newton and Pryor. Newton's throwing motion is more consistent although the numbers don't show that.
Both had similar numbers against Oregon.
One has 2 BCS Bowl wins. The other a BCS Championship.

this post does not make much sense, considering scouts laugh at the notion of cam playing qb at the next level beyond a package situation.

Really, I have seen multiple mock drafts projecting Newton to the Bills with #3 overall pick.
However If I were Bills I'd stick with Fitzpatrick and go defense.

i dont know maybe we've been reading entirely different things but if cam gets drafted in the first round like Tebow did its not because he is going to play RB or TE...some team is going to take him to play QB...and he will go in the first round...no question about it...if Pryor came out this year as well he wouldnt go in the first round....he would be a 2nd or 3rd round pick...and a team might draft him to play WR or TE...maybe if TP was on Auburn and Cam was on Ohio State the situation would be different because of the offense each team runs but as of right now Cam has a better throwing motion and a higher QB rating...the stats are there as well for Cam...fewer INT's, ,more passing TD's, ran for over 1,400 yards, and joins Tebow in the 20/20 club...and as for the scouts, they are comparing him to a big ben type QB

http://www.thestar.com/sports/footb...qb-cam-newton-well-positioned-for-nfl-success
But after a season that saw him lead the NCAA in passing efficiency (188.2) and account for 48 touchdowns (28 passing and 20 rushing) Newton had vaulted to No. 8 on Kiper?s list of top draft prospects.
And when other experts look at Newton, they don?t see an athlete in search of a position. They see a pure quarterback with uncanny athletic ability. When interviewed by Sports Illustrated last year, an AFC scout compared Newton to Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
?He has the size you look for in a quarterback to survive the physical beating and the ability to avoid a lot of the big hits,? the scout told the magazine. ?I worry about his (passing) accuracy; he misses open receivers. But he?s got the traits, other than that, of a winning NFL quarterback.?

Thing that scares me if I'm an NFL GM...one year as a starter. Who was the last QB to be selected in the top ten with 1 year as a starter who came from a gimmicky offense.....

Akili Smith

I'm a Bills fan and I don't think there's any chance the Bills take Newton at #3. I think they go defense with Patrick Peterson or the CB from Nebraska. Even if they were to take a QB they aren't making Cam Newton the first QB taken, it would probably be Gabbert.

also Alex Smith...

edit: on the gimmicky offense part... missed the one year starter thing
