QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Why are tweets taboo here? I mean, it's coming straight from the player?

because sarcasm, intention, context, and a vast number of other things important in conveying a message accurately are not transmitted via 'tweet'... which can lead to rampant speculation about things such as, oh, I don't know, Terrelle Pryor wishing he had chosen to play basketball in college

Improvement in nearly every single category. The guy came to Ohio State to learn how to be a Quarterback. The evidence is in, and he's doing exactly that. He could have gone to Michigan (or Oregon, for that matter) and been an absolute beast running their offenses. If he's not frustrated he should be - he came to Ohio State with one particular skill set setting himself above all others. A skill set he's essentially consciously chosen to abandon... if not abandon, he certainly does not rely exclusively on his legs. ... and he's getting punished for it - for not being Terrelle Pryor the runner playing QB.

.. all he's done is become a better QB every single season he's been here. Should he be 1st team All Big Ten? I happen to think so, but the more important thing is this - he came here to become a QB and not a runner taking snaps. If he fails to win a single honor, ever, he has achieved (or I should say, continues to achieve) what he set out to do.

If he's not wowing the media, I could give a fuck. He's doing just fine as far as I'm concerned.

Understood, but this isn't a scout board - you know what I mean? There is common sense present here on this board.. with that said, your explanation makes sense as to why it is better left off the forum.

I don't know. I have to wonder if TP is seriously having second thoughts about whether he chose the right sport. This most recent tweet on its own would be one thing, but taken with the previous ones about the basketball team, about Herbie, and his overall frustration with the relentless criticism ... I get the feeling Terrelle is banged up pretty bad, sore as hell, and perhaps feeling a bit underappreciated for all his hard work.

It takes work, time, patience, etc. to become great. It takes work and maybe not winning all the awards that you'd win elsewhere to become an NFL quarterback. I think and hope that Terrelle knows this. He will be better off in the end for going through this growth that he is going through.

I think he's gonna be fine. I think he's gonna improve a lot from now til the bowl game, and then again in the spring. The potential is immense, if he just keeps working at it he can still accomplish all the goals that he set for himself here and in the NFL.

Also, I think Terrelle is probably a better leader than people are giving him credit for. The media and twitter isn't the judge of a leader in the locker room and the huddle. He might not be the perfect leader and may be emotional but another year of maturity will definitely help to round out the edges.

because kids say flippant, reckless things without thinking, and twitter only multiplies that.

kids sometimes use crude language or are overboard in their commentary/criticism of something, and the fan reaction spins out of control.

Kids declare they are done with ________, when in reality it was just an emotional vent or something they get over. Most kids get fed up or homesick or upset, twitter provides a sloppy stream of consciousness that doesn't pass through their normal filter.

The other reason is this is a major news archive for fans, and so even the reasonable posters can get thrown for a loop by someone messing around, especially with the reactions that recruiting, injury and departure news can elicit

Funny, my sister is a junior and was in a speech class with TP and she said he's very intelligent. Just sayin'.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw TP pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
