QB/WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

id say hes overrated. that being said the kid had more hype than sliced bread. hell never match his hype. he could be the greatest qb at his school, likely his conference and maybe the country, ever and not match his hype. hes the most hyped kid since a right handed kid from berwick...

I'm just hoping that by the time Pryor is a junior we have an offensive line that can block. Unless there's someone out there who can convince me otherwise, it is the inability of this line to get any kind of push for the running game, or hold blocks long enough for the passing game that has kept this offense from achieving all season long. The buckeyes had turnovers and field position all day long against Purdue and had to settle for fieldgoals.

The difference in the offense since the start of the season? Now the bucks have a QB who can run for his life. That hasn't changed the fact that he has to.

Haha, people calling him overrated need to realize that he's a freshman.

That being said, has someone here called him overrated?

Lol, he's going to have a breakout game this year just like Troy did his first year starting and all of a sudden people will be all over his balls. I don't know when but he will.

You head over to Scout... and guys are calling for Pryor's head. They want Boeckman back and even a lot of them want Bauserman to start.

It just confuses the hell out of me. Of course he is going to struggle a little bit.... he was playing on a Pennsylvania high school team a year ago. He needs time to grow.

This week will be a totally different TP - by looking at him on the sidelines you could tell he was beating himself up about the way he was playing tight. He will watch crazy film this week and come out with something to prove. The great ones always do.

That's just crazy talk... I know he is under pressure to perform but it's not like the Purdue game was never in hand. These same people were probably praising him for his last drive against Wisky (as we all were)

It would be regression if we switched him out now!

Well there are a lot of Browns fans who are Buckeye fans and the name of the game there seems to be what have you done for me now. You're either God or the backup needs to be brought on.

I agree he needs time to grow, and frankly i'm very happy so far, he's fine.

I don't care what the offense, or TP does if we win. I'm not eating my self up over the way the offense played against Purdue in 2002. The only performance this year that I am upset about AT ALL, is against USC. That was pathetic. This weekend wasn't pathetic...it was a Big Ten win. Pryor did exactly what a QB with a lead needs to do...not make game changing mistakes and lead the team to victory. I'm impressed with Pryor, being 4-0 as a true freshman, no matter who you have played, is quite impressive. I think he has a better feel for the game right now than Boeckman does. To me, that is a big difference...and the ability to run for a ton. Both are great kids. Well one is a great kid and the other is a great adult.

Vince Young was never a true pocket passer and will never be one, but he is successful as heck. I don't understand why we are neutralizing Pryor's strengths and accentuating his weakness at this point. Doesn't make a lot of sense. If we just focus on the running game with Pryor and Wells, and mix in with playaction, I can guarantee that would be a million times better than our current offense.

i've been pretty disappointed with the lack of play action lately.

The bottom line is, the fact that our offensive efficiency is downright pathetic is due to absolutely horrific offensive line play and absolutely horrific offensive coaching. Yes, this offensive line has some injuries, and that's a big problem. But the starting lineup of Boone--Rehring--Cordle--Person--Browning just does not get it done. Boone is a very average 6'8" left tackle and Rehring and Person are 2 of the worst guards I've ever seen in scarlet and grey. I've never seen an Ohio State offensive line go 3-and-out and just walk over to the bench as if that's completely acceptable. And the worse part of it, the coaches let it happen. No intensity, no sense of urgency, and no sense of responsibility by anyone. It makes me sick. It's unacceptable. It's just not Ohio State football.

Pryor has been thrown into the fire with very little support up front. Brewster at center and Cordle at left guard is the correct first step, even though it took injuries to make that happen. The next correct step is for Boone, Rehring, and Person to hurry up and graduate and leave the program. I hate to say that, but the team will be improved when that happens.

Purdue has the worst defense in the Big Ten, that's how bad our offense was last week. Pryor is our quarterback. The decison was made. Bringing Todd Boeckman back simply undermines this offense.

Yes a win is a win, but that only counts in the NFL. In the BCS system, it's very much a beauty contest as well. Ohio State should beat Purdue 35-10. When they win 16-3 with no offensive TD's, the BCS says that's bad. I'm shocked we didn't move back in the polls. I don't agree with it, but that's just the way it is.

What I find funny is the fact that one week a guy is the second coming of Christ......the next week he's the exact opposite. You are going to experience growing pains with a froshy........he didn't turn the ball over, he is making good decisions out there. With time, his natural ability will come back and take center stage. Have some fucking patience Buckeye faithful! :wink2:

Bullshit. If we had beat USC, we'd be number one right now. No matter if we'd beaten Purdue by one. Regardless, we win out and we go to the Rose, at least. No matter if those wins are by one or one hundred. The only reason to win pretty is to appease the pollsters and fans. Tressel need not be worried with either.

I recommend that rhetoric such as this be toned back a bit. :)

Seriouisly BK/FS that's the kinda stuff that leads to the bolded portion of the football forum notice.

Wait, logic, growing pains, natural progression... you ain't one of those intellectuals are you. You know, thought goes against what sports journalism is all about (see- Doug Lesmersis). People need to calm down, and look to this Saturday, TPs going to be fine. Bring on Sparty, and crush him like the imposter to the throne that he is.
