I am very impressed with Miller's throwing ability at this stage in his development. He throws a hard ball and reminds me a lot of a faster Troy Smith. Keep in mind I am comparing Miller to where I feel Smith was as a sophomore. This may not sound like a lot, but by the end of this season I think he's going to be the guy. He is just too talented to not be touching the ball at least a dozen times a game or more.

What impressed me about both quarterbacks most yesterday when they threw the ball was how quickly the ball got to the receivers. Time after time the receivers got the ball quickly enough to do something with the ball when they caught it. Our YAC numbers are going to be much better than the past few years if this continues.

No question Braxton has the stronger arm out of the two QB's. He threw an out route to the big side of the field among other nice throws. I felt he showed great decision making skills, especially on a roll out right where he had a guy that appeared open but had he thrown it, the ball would have been picked. That's a throw Pryor would have thrown well into his sophomore year and possibly at times last year.

I know Joe played well but I still like Braxton as the guy when we get into games where the QB is going to need to make plays.

I was very glad to see Joe played so well, there won't be a need to force Miller into the starting spot before he's ready. The problem with that is he looks ready today. It was only Akron, so much remains to be seen, but QB isn't a concern of mine anymore for this season.

Yeah, Joe played well yesterday. But I guess my thought is that Braxton is the future, and if you're going to waste his potential red shirt, then he needs to play. I don't think there's any way that he isn't starting at some point during the season. Seems that the coaches are just letting him ease into it for a few games.

I agree with Urban, he has to be one of the best 11 on of Offense, he has to be apart of the equation all season.

Having 2 different views it doesn't look like he is engaged with his teammates that much. Spiels and Urban obviously made a big deal of it but even before hearing them I noticed it as well.

Not sure how much it matters but I think at that position you need the team behind ya.

Braxton certainly had a very promising debut in many facets: passing, running and decision-making. What I found most promising though was his confidence and poise. He looked like he belonged out there. I was expecting great things from Braxton before, but after watching him play yesterday, I think those great things will maybe come sooner than I was expecting.

Baby steps.

We can afford it as long as Joe continues to play well. No need to get Brax lit up or break his confidence by throwing him to the dogs. I think the split was very good this week except I would have like to see coach put Braxton back in after his one series got ruined by the bad snap. One more series there and playing most of the 4th quarter. Maybe increase his work depending on how the rest of the team is playing. Getting the W's is first and foremost and then getting Braxton ready is next.

Exactly, look at how Bamer's QBs looked against the vaunted Kent State D.

4 ints between the two.

Braxton had a QB rating of 185 I believe. I don't care who he played, as a true freshman, those are great numbers for his first game.
