QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Sere, that post makes no sense. He was comparing Braxton and Vick, not Terrelle. please edit your post, because it is pretty reckless towards Braxton.

As for comparing Braxton to the fastest QB in NFL history, that is a rough comparison given the gigantic difference in speed.

What is the actual difference? How large is the "real" gap? I see Vick and Miller as both having electric moves, and being very hard to corner, basically having extreme ability to just get away from the defender. But, as far as speed and 40 times as a measurement how different are they? They both seem "football" fast for sure. It's also nice we are having this conversation about his legs when he has great ability with his arm as well.

Braxton Miller is nowhere near as fast as Michael Vick. Not a knock on Braxton at all, Vick is on another level than just about anyone in the game.

Yeah, so used to checking the Pryor thread every day for updated info that when I went into this thread, for some reason I thought I was in the Pryor thread. I still stand by my words about TP though.

As for Braxton, he is still raw. Why would you want to put not only the season but the entire fan base and reputation on an 18 year old, true freshman? I know Bauserman has little playing time, but at least we have a stable of running backs to keep his play conservative - just like Boeckman in 07. This off season has brought more eyes onto the regular season than the typical year.

Because Bauserman has yet to prove anything in games or in spring games when he has had an opportunity. We need consistency at the quarterback position and if no one is all that consistent then I'd rather see a playmaker at the position than a statue. JMHO.

Yeah but we also had a guy named Beanie that year. No offense to Herron and the others but they're not really at that level where they could carry the entire team on their back like Beanie did in 2007.

From what I've heard, Smith may be just that kind of back.

Enormous.

Michael Vick was the fastest football player on the field almost every time... in the NFL. Braxton is often the shiftiest and most talented player, but isn't going to outclass everyone with his speed, especially at the college and NFL level.

Braxton is a 4.5 type of guy with great quickness. Michael Vick is a 4.28 type of fast (I'm not sure what his official time is, just looking at him on the field).

Vick was actually a pretty decent passer on the college level. It's too bad he didn't become more serious about the position until after his jail time, because he could have become an all-time legend.

I didn't make the Vick comparison based on having the same exact attributes... I made it based on play-style. Both mobile, both very shifty, and both have cannon arms and put a lot of velocity on the ball. Just the player comparison that stuck out the most to me when I watched his HS film.

I think Vick comparisons happen to every dual threat QB that has some very good potential. Braxton is no where near Vick's level, because Vick was the fastest player in college and the NFL at the height of his career. Miller isn't even the fastest player on OSU. That's why VIck comparisons can hardly ever be made because most HS players who have exceptional speed end up changing positions. From Pat White, Antwaan Randle El, Brad Smith, Seneca Wallace, Josh Cribbs, Dennis Dixon, etc all were supposed to be like Mike Vick. I honestly didn't think Vick was a very good QB, he was an athlete playing QB, he didn't become a QB until he got out of jail. I think Miller is a little more advanced as a QB than Vick was at the same age. Miller at least goes through progressions before taking off downfield.
