QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Ohio State suspensions accelerate blue-chipper's path to QB job - Andy Staples - SI.com

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- By the end of this week, Braxton Miller will be a college student. He'll play in the Under Armour All-America game on Wednesday, and he'll head to Columbus on Thursday to start his college career at Ohio State. "I'll make my family proud," the star quarterback from Wayne High in Huber Heights, Ohio, said Monday.

Miller's relatives won't be the only ones charting his early progress in Columbus, though. What would have been an easy, relatively quiet transition -- for a top-shelf quarterback recruit, at least -- has been set on its ear by the NCAA's ruling that Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor must sit out the first five games of his senior season for selling memorabilia. Suddenly, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Miller is a candidate to be Ohio State's opening-day starter. Miller, a dual-threat quarterback who led his high school to Ohio's big-school state title game this season, admits the prospect of taking the field with the starting offense at the Horseshoe in September is exciting.

"Yeah, it is," Miller said. "It's a lot of pressure, too."

Indeed, because if Miller does beat out rising senior Joe Bauserman and rising sophomore Kenny Guiton for the job, Miller must lead a program that competes annually for the Big Ten title and spends most years in the national title hunt. Certainly, Miller knows he can't simply walk on campus and win the job. "People say that all the time. 'You're going to start the first five games,'" Miller said. "It's not that easy."

Can Braxton Miller start next year?

Here is footage of the #1 high school QB in the nation...Ohio State recruit Braxton Miller.

With Pryor suspended for the first 5 games next year (or whatever the penalty will be) it will be interesting to see the role that Miller plays in 2011. He is already enrolled and attending classes.

Didn't play very well, mostly due to the fact that its an all star game. The offense in is usually bad. The o-line didn't play very well either but Braxton wasn't sure if we wanted to run or throw and usually just got taken down for a loss or minimal gain. I am sure he will be very productive in an offense when their is an actual game plan.

He survived, and as I wrote in another thread, with two of the best DE's in the HS ranks, Clowney and Chickillo running free in the backfield, that's all I wanted. They also had Keyshaun Johnson calling the plays which showed why he spends his time in studio on Sundays :roll1:

He had a few nice throws, when he wasn't running for his life, one nice one across the middle, hit his man in stride, in the hands and was dropped, though a safety did deliver a decent hit.

He survived intact, like I said, which is the most important thing in most all-star games.

I thought he looked good on his passes.....when he had time to throw. A few times he was ready to take off just needed to break one tackle and he'd have a huge run. They ran a halfback pass that he caught acrobatically.
Really only negative thing was the fumble on the sidelines....lead to a TD.

After watching two playoff games and the game last night my only concern re: Braxton remains to be size...can he get himself into the kind of shape to take the hits he's going take in the Big 10 and survive. I think the talk of him being the starter during TP's abscence is way premature.
