STO showed a reply of the Wayne/ Davidson game today. Having missed the live telecast, I thought I would check it out, to see what exactly everyone was raving about. With 7:49 left in the third quarter, all Miller's receivers were covered, so he intentionally threw the ball away. That was his first incomplete pass of the game, nuff said! :biggrin:

QB Braxton Miller was named the Ohio Division I offensive player of the year earlier this week, and for good reason. The senior has passed for 1,967 yards and run for 594 more, bringing his career totals as a four-year starter to 4,595 passing yards and 1,532 rushing yards. The Ohio State commitment is high on everyone?s list of concerns about the Warriors, and he continues to be the team?s leader.

Looking very good.

1st qtr. drove down the field in the last ~3:00 and ran in the last 17 for a TD. Also scrambled and threw on a key 3rd down at about mid-field.

2nd qtr. Juked a very good Eds LB out of his shoes for a 1st down, but had to punt later. Later, some tight passes to get out from under their own goal post, then great ~40yd run to down inside the 10, but it was called back for a (bad call) holding.

It's been said here 1E6 times, but the kid has got skills.

I just got back from the state championship game and must say, even though Hubert Heights lost, Braxton Miller is the best high school QB I've ever seen. His moves running the ball were so fluid and quick. He never lost control of his movements and made it look like his scrambling was actually a designed play.

His arm was also impressive. It looked stronger than Pryor's and was pretty accurate. The most impressive throw of the night was a touchdown pass with the best touch I have ever seen. It was a perfect pass that not too many guys could have made.

Te kid has a bright future and looks like the real deal. I wish him the best of luck.

Braxton finished with 2 rushing TDs and around 60 yards and added over 200 passing yards and 2 more TDs. He led a (potential) game winning scoring drive, but they left too much time on the clock. This was the second time I've seen Braxton live and I was quite impressed once again. He made all the throws, had good zip on the out routes, threw one bomb (just out of bounds), and his 2nd TD pass was a thing of beauty with the loft he put on it. As a runner, he was so elusive. I don't think he ever got brought down by the first defender.

We texted our friends after that bomb that was called out of bounds. All the people we spoke to said that it looked like he was in but I dot know. It was a very good throw though.

I had not really seen Miller play until last weekend. After watching last week's game, and this evening's game, I can't wait to see him surrounded with OSU level talent. I know he hasn't played a down of college football yet, but what a talent! :yow1:

Wayne's Miller dazzles, but is not dazzled

CANTON ? Braxton Miller was still wearing his black athletic gloves but had shed his jersey, torso protection and shoulder pads when he finally got a look at the stat sheet.

The exceptional Wayne High School senior quarterback sat at the interview table and picked up the paper, studying it. Next to him, coach Jay Minton talked about the obstacles the Warriors faced to get to the Division I state championship game at Fawcett Stadium on Saturday and the difficulty of the 35-28 loss to Lakewood St. Edward.

Miller was expressionless looking down at the sheet showing his 200 passing yards and two touchdowns and 64 rushing yards and two scores. It was tough to read what he was thinking.

A little earlier, on the field afterward, he was asked about the tough loss by reporters.

?You win some,? Miller said, ?you lose some.?

As disappointing of a loss as it was, Braxton pulled off the unthinkable by even getting his team to the title game. Midway through the season, it looked as if Wayne wouldn't make it to the playoffs. Heck of a year for Braxton and a gritty performance all along the way. It's been a pleasure watching him develop as a player and person over the last 4 years in the area. Seems as if yesterday I made this thread thinking he was going to be an elite WR. The best is yet to come for Brax.
