QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

I'd say this play (with Miller passing to Thomas) is a real possibility this year.

In looking at this play, it appears if Spencer would have held on to the ball (after faking to pass it) and immediately ran to his right he would have had a 7 man convoy leading the way into the end zone too. However, I'm glad he passed it.....Touchdown!!!

I guess I hadn't noticed that before. He could have swung that out to Jalin and that's probably a TD with the convoy of blockers too.

There are four unblocked defenders flowing up there with one TE that wasn't occupied. Maybe one of the OL could get ahead of that play.

They showed this look on another snap earlier in the year with evan where he wanted to throw but kept it for a mild but solid gain.

BRAXTON MILLER'S POSITION SWITCH GAINING MERIT FOR OHIO STATE OFFENSE AFTER INJURY TO NOAH BROWN

When someone in the Ohio State football program is asked about Braxton Miller, usually their responses fall along the lines of "most electric player in America," or "phenomenal athlete," or simply "impact player."

All of those phrases are accurate for the man with a pair of Silver Footballs in his trophy case. Expectations for Miller are of a different variety this season with his switch from quarterback to H-back, but they rose even higher 12 days before the Buckeyes visit Blacksburg, Va., and Virginia Tech.

Noah Brown went down with a broken leg during Wednesday's practice, adding another name to Ohio State's list of inactive playmakers for the season opener against the Hokies Labor Day Night.

Brown was expected to take over a starting role following the departures of Devin Smith and Evan Spencer, particularly in Week 1 with Jalin Marshall, Dontre Wilson and Corey Smith all suspended.

Now, he's gone for the season. Even more so than before, it's Miller's time to shine and pick up the slack.

"My plan is to try and get him ready to do that," Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said last week of Miller's potential to start. "He's getting close."

Of our guys last year that had over 100 yards, only 3/9 will be playing week 1, and one of those 3 is zeke. Leaves us with Thomas and Vannett. Perhaps Samuel will move to WR for at least this game.

Bottom line: I think this game is on Brax....again. He's put the team on his shoulders and won us so many games over the years. He doesn't need to put the team on his shoulders, but we need someone to put on the burners and make some big plays, and I think Brax is it. Otherwise they load the box, play tight to the LOS and put everything into stopping Zeke.

Didn't have to lean on him as hard as 2012/2013, but he was definitely the key to this game.

My favorite Buckeye of all time.
Yeah, he's definitely stealing that spot for me. Not sure a player has me out of my seat, screaming and genuinely smiling as much as him. Add in the guy has been a Buckeye from the beginning and his unselfish move this year to do whatever he needed to for the team. He is special.

I <3 Braxton
