QB/WR Braxton Miller (B1G POY, National Champion, OSU HOF)

Am also a huge Braxton fan, and fully recognize the "rock and a hard place" decisions that UFM has to make regarding him running the ball. With that said, I think Kenny G has improved a lot and could do a very credible job as a backup if Brax gets injured....lets just hope we don't have to find out whether I'm right or not. :(

I'm a huge Braxton fan but I'm concerned that he's trying to do too much on his own. That leads to turnovers and injuries. "Help is on the way" maybe with Carlos, though.

And until Smith, Brown, Hyde, and Hall show they can perform consistently, he's going to have to keep doing it.

Most aren't questioning the toughness (and other people are calling out the few that are), just it's an interesting reaction to any type of pain, as apparently he's had a history of just dropping the ball when getting hurt..Nevada was the one started the thread just making an observation, I wouldn't necessarily call him an idiot as his opinions and observations I think are very good.

Its an instant physical reaction for your hands to go immediately to the spot of pain and if there is a ball or anything else in them, to drop it and reach out.

Unless its a gun in a firefight and even then it happens sometimes.

When I was a junior in high school I had my first real injury playing basketball. I tore meniscus on a rebound and I immediately threw the ball back up into the air when I landed. Wasnt even a thought process I just let it go. I can see why Braxton did that but its unfortunate in football that it becomes a turnover situation. No way can you judge his toughness because of that play.

If I recall, Beanie did the exact same thing when he hurt his foot against YSU several years back.

I didn't see the play when it happened. (The Miller fumble) Saw people talking about it here.

I finally saw the replay, and can tell you from personal experience, what he did was a perfectly normal reaction. I guarantee you he felt a jolt, then schock through his entire body, then numbness, then pain. Not OMG is my leg broken pain, but like you got punched really hard in the thigh pain.

I wouldn't even describe it as "pain" (been there with both my knees) as more of an "holy shit something REALLY wrong" kind of reaction. In my experience, when I first blew out my right knee, I knew right away something was extremely wrong with the way my knee bent sideways, but the pain was not nearly as bad as you think. Mine happened while gunning on a KO team, I cut to go after the ball carrier and my knee gave way. I grabbed it and fell to the ground right away. Not a pain thing, just an "oh shit!!" type thing.

When I saw the replay from the endzone camera that showed his knee buckle slightly, I knew right away why he dropped the ball. I can't fault him for that one.

Santinio did the same thing in the Jets game. His was worse though because he held onto the ball when he hit the ground, rolled over, then just threw it away without anyone touching him down. The result, a fumble going the other way for a TD.

Yeah I saw that and thought, you know he's in pain when he stops caring about the ball

IMHO, Braxton is one the front runners for the Hypesman this season. Upwards of 70% of this season's tOSU's offense directly involves him and that # goes up as the game progresses. The kid has flat out delivered.

Unfortunately for my Nebraska Cornhuskers, our defensive achilles heal has been and continues to be MOBILE QB's. I'm thinking BM will put on a show on this nationally televised showcase night game from the Horseshoe and take a huge step up the Hypesman ladder.

BM and the Urban Meyer offense were made for each other. Even though I'm a fan of a rival conference opponent who is coming into the shoe this weekend, I appreciate/enjoy watching this kid perform. Much the same way I enjoyed watching RG III down @ Baylor. Braxton is a once in a Tommy Frazier type of talent and it's enjoyable for this college football fan to watch that kind of talent in action, even if he is a conference rival.
