haha...yep! They need to hurry and put it up. I was just thinking last night how sweet it will be with 7 names up there now. How long was it after Eddie won it before they put his name up? I can not remember.
From CoachTressel.com:

The first was two-time Heisman Trophy winner (1974-1975) Archie Griffin. At halftime of the October 30, 1999 game against Iowa, Griffin-and the Ohio Stadium crowd-were surprised to see his number 45 handed to him in a special frame. Then, an announcement was made. His was to be the first jersey retired, of any sport, in OSU history.
On September 23, 2000, it was 1950 Heisman Trophy winner Vic Janowicz's turn. Posthumously, his number 31 was retired at halftime of a game against Penn State.
Later that year, on November 18th against Michigan, 1954 Heisman winner Howard "Hopalong" Cassady saw his number 40 taken out of circulation. Cassady also helped lead the Buckeyes to the 1954 National Championship.
1944 Heisman Trophy recipient, the late Les Horvath, had his number 22 retired on October 6th, 2001, at halftime against Northwestern.
An emotional Eddie George watched his number 27 unveiled from the fa?ade of C-Deck on November 10 of that year. The 1995 Heisman Trophy, Maxwell and Walter Camp Award winner was honored at intermission against Purdue.

Ravens waive 6, including QB Olson
Move makes T. Smith team's No. 3 quarterback behind McNair, Boller

Rookie Troy Smith won the battle for the No. 3 quarterback role as the Ravens released quarterback Drew Olson today.

"Decisions have to be made," coach Brian Billick said after practice at the team's training facility in Owings Mills. "Drew was with us for his first year. A good, young man. I think he has a future, but we had to make a decision. Excited to see how it will play out."

Heisman winner Smith survives cut in Ravens quarterback competition
By David Ginsburg, AP Sports Writer

BALTIMORE ? Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith has earned the job as the Baltimore Ravens' third-string quarterback. His place on the team, however, is not yet guaranteed.
The Ravens cut former UCLA quarterback Drew Olson on Monday, leaving Smith alone on the depth chart behind starter Steve McNair and backup Kyle Boller.

"What still has to be determined is if we'll carry two or three quarterbacks on the active roster," Baltimore coach Brian Billick said. "Last year we carried two."

Even if the Ravens go with only two quarterbacks, Smith will almost certainly earn a paycheck on Baltimore's practice squad. That's no small feat for the last player drafted in the fifth round of the NFL draft, in part because he was deemed by some scouts to be too small to be a pro quarterback.

The 6-foot, 225-pound Smith had only two games to make an impression on the Ravens coaching staff. His third opportunity was washed away when lightning ended Saturday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins in the third quarter.

Smith was 3-for-11 for 34 yards in the opener against Philadelphia and 4-for-8for 60 yards against the New York Giants. Olson was 7-for-9 for 84 yards and a touchdown against the Eagles, but only 1-for-4 for 6 yards against New York.

"We made the decision to bank on the huge upside that Troy has," Neuheisel said.

"I just gave him a call to see what time we were coming in and he told me they had released him," Smith said. "It was a shock to me. Guys you slapped fives with might not even be here. You never know. It's an incredible business."

Smith said beating out Olson provided no sense of relief and not one shred of satisfaction. There was no celebration, either.

"I never really had any feelings about it still don't," Smith said. "To me, it's not declaring somebody as a winner. They make decisions in the front office we can't change. Drew's a great friend of mine. He's going to continue to be a friend of mine. We've got a football season to prepare for and that's what I'm going to do."
