damn. i don't think he's making the best decision, but i also don't think he's screwing up his life. he wants to play. i don't blame him. his clock is ticking, and that window ain't getting any bigger.

Well hell, I'm learning all kinds of new terminology in this thread. I feel like we should open up an Urban Dictionary thread (that was accidental). Or, at least one for Non-Millennials. My husband still hasn't signed up for Facebook. This is one of the reasons I married him. The twitter box has played a big part in tOSU this year-- and not in a good way.

If he does transfer immediately and sits out a year then we probably know that the rumor of him being able to graduate in May was false. He probably isn't even close to graduating. Even if he couldn't graduate in May, wouldn't it be better to just stay at Ohio State till he could graduate if was a year or less. So much can happen in a year and sitting out without being able to play just doesn't seem like a good idea.

For whatever it's worth, this is what Austin Ward wrote yesterday at Lettermen Row:

Ohio State has been through this sort of circus before with quarterbacks who are talented enough to start for many other teams but have to leave the program to do so. This is already quite different, though, than what transpired with Joe Burrow last season, and not just because sources with direct knowledge have indicated a graduate transfer isn’t possible for Martell at this point. Of course, he may have just meant, "isn't possible right now, as opposed to being possible or near-certain in the spring."
