QB Rob Schoenhoft (official thread)

Info

I was wondering since I've been following this RS and MS deal for the past 2 or so weeks who would you compare him to? Almost sounds like he's the Philip Rivers type? kinda on the bigger side and has gun. Thats my take on it? but yeah I've read that article too and I'm glad to hear we're his favorites. I'm kinda stuck on who I'd rather have between the two also. For sure I really don't want michigan to have ANYONE from ohio so I guess RS. You know if MS goes to Texas we play them next year and maybe if we stomp them in really good he'll get playing time in the forth quarter and get sacked by his buddy ryan? lol that'd be crazy.

Back on the subject of Rob S.

Folks seem to think he is a buckeye "lock" now

has he even received a buckeye offer? insiders dbase says no, and also has MSU as his leader. has there been some developments I don't know about?

Insiders database is so beyond F'ed up and stale it's comical. I can't believe people pay access to search and sort it. They didn't even have Bemoll listing OSU until RDS had announced he had committed. Their problem is that 1) they don't do enough updates to accurately gauge a recruit's situation and 2) When they do an update, they still don't update the database.

On the other hand, Rivals usually does frequent updates and almost always updates the database when they do a new update.

Well, if you go on performance stats alone, you may as well find the best QB, on the most wide-open offense, that plays the easiest schedule in the country.

St. X consistently plays as tough a schedule as anyone in the state. Look at Schoenhoft's offer list--I don't think those are the kinds of programs that are in the nature of pursuing sub-par QBs.

i didnt mean it to sound as a knock on RS.....i guess i should have asked....what is the criteria for choosing the elite11?

do they go on stats, potential, recommendations of college coaches...etc...

At the end of the day, I believe it is up to Coach Johnson to choose, in fact I know it is he and his staff.

They choose based on any criteria they want, but they definitely use game tape. I would imagine that offers help draw attention to a player.

I split this thread. Anyone who wants to debate whether they want a Lexus or BMW can find the thread here.

BMW or Lexus

My only thought on Schoenhoft is why all of a sudden is depth chart a concern? He was a scUM fan not worried about Henne or anyone else not too long ago. I wonder what/who changed his mind?

Man, I'll say one thing: Looking at St. Xavier's schedule, there's no doubt that RS will be facing TOP-NOTCH opposition...week after week. That has to be the toughest schedule in the state of Ohio and one of the toughest in the nation. If the kid performs well against those opponents, he's a solid prospect.
