QB Rob Schoenhoft (official thread)

brutus2002 brings up a good point. Michigan gets so many world-class QBs who end just warming the bench or even having to switch positions. Remember the kid Gonzalez who flubbed the shotgun snap for a safety in the 2001 game at Ann Arbor? He was supposed to be the kid to lead Michigan back to glory, and ended up nearly never seeing the field.

His 37% completion % last year still has to be a concern :(

He was hampered by really bad recievers. Rob throws the ball very hard and his revievers had a really difficult time hanging on to the ball.

This kid is a HUGE michigan fan. I think we have a much better shot at Sanchez than this kid.

Well that doesnt necessarily mean he has bad receivers if he doesnt know how to throw a "touch" pass and always has to zip it in there hard. Maybe he just doesnt know how to not gun it or when to take some off of it. Schoenhoft fans seem to always point to the drops for the low completion percentage, but what if alot of the drops are his fault for throwing it too hard?

Rob is quoted in this scUM site article saying that scUM still leads with tOSU still on the radar.

Here's a link to an interesting article on Schoenhoft and Forcier:

Rivals on Rob Schoenhoft (7/2/04)

Foricer said he’s been told by Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State that Schoenhoft is their No. 1 quarterback target.

“(Michigan and Michigan State) said I’m right behind (Schoenhoft),” Forcier said. “They said we’d rather have a Midwest quarterback and that’s very understandable. He’s more prototypical for the Big 10 with his size. I’m more new style.”

I find it hard to believe that the Bucks have Sanchez behind Schoenhoft.

BTW, both Schoenhoft and Forcier just camped at Notre Dame, and neither got an offer.

I have to wonder who is considered #1 at ND this year? The last time I had checked they had not offered Sanchez, Schoenhoft or Forcier. All three have shown a real serious interest in them. I wonder if they are waiting to see where some of there other recruit fall, before offering any QB at all. I would have to imagine with all these great QB's interested in them they would have to take one. I am very happy with the way OSU is handling their QB situation this year. They are out there and very active with the exact same QB's. They seem to be gaining on some of these QB's while ND appears to be slipping. Hope we can get a pair of them.
