The national media is going to make every effort to pump up QB’s not named Ewers at the E11 this week. I’m not saying those guys won’t deserve the praise they get, I’m saying don’t be shocked when it comes at the expense of Quinn.

The more fanbases they have engaged, the better.

Bingo, I was going to say the same to @MistaBohmbastic, there's no money in pumping up the same top prospect. That's why it was so important that Fields beat Lawrence in their Elite 11. So UGA fans could get engaged. This year will be no different, they need to get subs out of a different base, and it's looking like the hype is going towards Allar and Ped St so far

Having access to view every throw he made, the whole idea of definitively ranking players based on that is quite stupid at its foundation.

The things you can take away, arm strength and accuracy, Ewers is clearly a generational talent. Anyone who claims to take anything more than that away from this exhibition is blowing smoke.

When was the last time ESPN hyped anything Ohio State or the B1G for that matter. They have a financial interest in both the SEC and ACC. The Big Ten Network is affiliated with FOX Sports.

I think it’s funny how Huffman set it up almost like a pro wrestling storyline. He’s basically admitted he’s already gonna write about Ewers making a comeback thru the weekend, just had to hype up a few opponents first lol

Not really, because a southern region NC doesn't make as much money as a Midwest vs south match up. That's why they hype ND and OU so much. They can't have CFB turn into Nascar. Yes, Nascar is the biggest spectator sport. But no one cares outside of the southeast. ESPN is slowly losing interest from the west, they can't lose the Midwest too. So no, I don't think that they'd want another Bama/Clemson matchup

Yep, they generate more clicks essentially trolling the Ohio State fan base than they would by propping them up ala Clemson or Bama.

Nothing beats watching a Clemson vs Wake Forest game on ESPN and hearing about how its a "STIFF ROAD TEST" for Clemson. They do a lot of propping of bad ACC teams to try to make Clemson look stronger overall. You'll never see them trying to gas up Rutgers or Maryland.

And they do the same for the SEC yearly. When analysts constantly say that OSU would finish middle of the pack in the SEC and a team like Arkansas could win the B1G. They know what they're doing.

No other major sport has this type of conflict of interest. It’s quite remarkable to be honest.
