Ewers wasn't just another 5star QB. He's the 5th highest rated HS QB of all time, and the 16th highest rated recruit of all time, and 4th highest TX recruit. That's a massive recruiting miss
Look up DJ Uiagalelei's 247 recruiting profile. Also a projected top 10 pick and ranked a 99.whatever

Ewers was ranked a little higher, but he still became a productive starter who led his team to 2 playoff appearances and got drafted. The gap between his recruiting profile and how his college career turned out doesn't come close to how so many other slightly lower ranked 5 star QBs and their careers turned out. Shane Morris, Anthony Morelli, Hunter Johnson, Max Browne, etc., etc., all didn’t become even decent starting college QBs. Ewers is far from the biggest missed evaluation

This draft was a shit show. I'm having a hard time believing more than about 20 draft spots as close to accurate. They seemed to completely disregard the tape on this years crop.

Ewers could be great if he does the work in the right system. Miami's system is unique and requires a quick read and real accuracy. Also maybe requires a hard head to stay alive!

Paul Finebaum says Texas star 'Flat out blew' $6 million by going all-in on 2025 NFL Draft too early

"How many times do we have to hear about Shedeur Sanders?" Finebaum said. "What about Quinn Ewers? Flat-out blew it. Could have made $5-$6 million. Instead, he was drafted by the Dolphins, which means he will not be playing football next fall."

Finebaum referenced a report from earlier this year that NIL offers in the $6-8 million range existed in the transfer portal for Ewers. Then, he factored in how Ewers will make about $4.3 million over four years with the Dolphins.

Or how about this for a story Paul - Quinn Ewers made several million dollars over the last 4 years playing a game he loves. He could have lived a very comfortable lifestyle and still put a couple million into investments during that time. He didn't have to have that $6 million for staying in college, and he didn't want to deal with school any more. Instead, he moved on to the next phase of his life which he had been striving to reach since he was a kid. Now he's "only" going to make a million or so a year for the next 4 years while fulfilling a dream. Sounds to me like a mature young man made a mature decision. Quality of life isn't solely determined by $ Paulie.

Edit - The million or so per year over the next 4 years doesn't include any endorsement contracts he may have, which may well dwarf his salary.

The pot isn't going to stir itself.

He's a braying ass just like the rest of them and to that ilk, money is everything.

They publicly humiliate themselves on, pretty much, a daily basis for it.

That and I think Miami is a great landing spot for him. Tua is one hit away from retirement and I see Quinn starting in the near future, so he will get his chance.
