QB Lincoln Kienholz (National Champion)

I have been saying this all along, being put in the situation Lincoln was in the Cotton Bowl was simply unfair and likely not at all indicative of what he can do here. There some really nice throws in those videos and I think he will give Sayin some real competition for the starting job...I think it will likely be Sayin, but not counting Lincoln out at all here.

That's exactly how I feel as well!

We've all heard about Sayin's fast processing speed and quick release and those are phenomenal luxuries to have, but you have to be able to execute. Sometimes a pickup truck is what's necessary. Tough, gets the job done. That may what we have with LK. I'd certainly be happy with a more athletic Will Howard.

Most of us believe that Sayin will be under center against Texas. Hoping that he performs well, and leads tOSU to victory. However, will be interesting to see how much rope Day gives him, before putting in LK to see how well he does under fire.

Wouldn't be nice to actually have two functioning QB's. So if one of them gets popped in The Game we can sit the injured player and have faith in the replacement.

No, I'm not bitter .....

Put the kid in pressure situations for multiple series. Let him sink or swim. I dont want to see Sayin play more than a half vs Grambling or a directional school. Seasons past we keep starters in way too long. Unless the Defense is scoring and taking series reps from the starters, take em out earlier.

Totally agree Bestbuck. Certainly a two-edged sword. First part of the year, want to get cohesion with the 1's. That means playing more than should (?) in the 'body bag' games. So when the big games come along, everyone knows what they're doing. On the other hand, these early games, one wants to get in the youngsters, to be them blooded, gain experience, and get a look at what sort of teaching is needed, and certainly what they can do in a live-fire situation. Applaud the coaches for putting in the young 'uns during critical times, THAT sort of experience is profound. Makes confidence soar (both players and coaches), when the players actually make some good plays. LJsr (to me at least), shows zero hesitation in putting a newbie in on a critical goal-line stand. Fast forward to this year, after winning the Natty, everyone says how much talent tOSU has, simply lack of experience. Well, guess one has to look back to those body bag games and see. Not even going to touch on the injuries to a starter/contributor when they played when game was out of reach. (PS, is why Stroud was hobbled by Day, because no one behind him if he got hurt). Go Bucks! As I reread the above, mayhaps during practices the 2/3's go against the 1's, to get some reps in.

I was maybe going to say that with the depth and talent OSU has now that practice should be harder than most games if they treat them as game situations, which Im sure they do, but add consequences to it for the pressure. The do-over doesn't come in game screw ups. That's what makes it real.
