Idk about you guys, but I enjoy watching Buckeye transfers succeed at their new locations. It almost validates to me that the staff evaluated well but just that guy wasn't to level to play and excel at OSU. But I wish nothing but success for them at their next location(as long as its not scUM, or when OSU plays them)
I hear you, but it wasn’t like he was going to see that same success at OSU. He may have the year after Haskins left, but that would also mean OSU misses out on Fields and has Burrow for one season.
But it did suck not getting a chance to meet him in the Nc

Former OSU Buckeye to be named Louisville's QB1 any day now
Surprisingly, Lincoln Kienholz hasn't been named Louisville's starting quarterback yet. Unsurprisingly, one Ohio State insider suggests that it'll come any day now.
The Louisville Cardinals' starting quarterback situation is technically fluid right now. With that said, Jeff Brohm is likely to land on his guy soon. That guy is almost certainly going to be former Ohio State Buckeyes QB Lincoln Kienholz.
As Bucknuts' Patrick Murphy notes, Kienholz being one of Brohm's selected representatives at ACC media day is likely a sign that the 4-star T.F. Riggs (SD) product will get the nod under center from the jump.
"It would be a major surprise if Kienholz were not named the Cardinals' starting quarterback heading into the 2026 season. His competition is West Georgia transfer Davin Wydner and true freshman Briggs Cherry, neither of whom has the Power Four-level experience Kienholz has. Head coach Jeff Brohm spoke positively about Kienholz throughout the spring, highlighting his athleticism and how Louisville can use a quarterback like him in his offense. Kienholz was recently named one of the Cardinals' three representatives for ACC Kickoff, an indication of his early standing within the program," Murphy wrote.
Kienholz has had a great spring in Louisville, completing 10/16 of his pass attempts during the spring game. He comes to the Cards with three valuable seasons in Ryan Day's system and using the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to sharpen his skills and get his strength up to snuff.
On paper, Kienholz is a perfect fit. Brohm certainly thinks so, having sung Kienholz's praises back in February before he even got an extended look at the QB.
“Lincoln brings us a dimension we have not had here before. He’s a very good athlete,” Brohm told the media in February. “He shows that every day, even now, up until this point. He can throw the football as well; he’s had to sit back and watch and learn…he knows his time is now. We’re going to work very hard to help him play his best football as we get going into the season.”

There's no doubt that Kienholz needed to leave Columbus. Not because he wasn't as well-liked as he is now in the Bluegrass State. Kienholz was just as beloved in Central Ohio, if anything, and it was tough to see him go.Jus sayin': He falls in the category of "once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye", not "ex-Buckeye"; regardless, he definitely would be easy to cheer for.

I’d be curious to see the calculation that results in Adidas making money from this arrangement. Assuming there are some pretty significant strings attached related to sponsored social media posts or something. I also wonder, if it is social media driven, how much Keinholz leveraged Ohio State followers who aren’t exactly engaged in the Keinholz brand these days.

Former Ohio State QB Lincoln Kienholz just received a whole lot of money at his new college football home
Lincoln Kienholz spent three season at Ohio State before leaving this past winter. Now at his new home in the ACC, Kienholz has now inked an NIL deal that’s going to give him significant cash.

Louisville could be the perfect landing spot
According to On3, Kienholz carries an NIL valuation of $2 million. That’s a strong figure for a player without a single collegiate start to his name. The Adidas deal stacks on top of whatever NIL compensation he’s already receiving at Louisville, making him one of the more well-compensated quarterbacks in the ACC before he’s taken a snap as a starter.Brohm has a track record of developing quarterbacks at a high level between multiple stops. Kienholz could be the next in that line. The talent was always there during his time at Ohio State, and a fresh start in Louisville gives him the chance to prove he’s a starting-caliber quarterback at the Power Four level.
Whether or not Kienholz develops into an NFL draft prospect remains to be seen, but he’s already doing a tremendous job capitalizing on the NIL landscape. Landing a six-figure Adidas deal before ever starting a game is proof of that. This fall will be telling for what Kienholz can become as Louisville’s signal-caller in 2026.
