Poison in a Pretty Glass
I’m surprised they had online classes way back when ; )I’m conflicted. I have a tOSU degree, but I barely set foot in a classroom.

THIS. 1000X THIS.I have two degrees from Ohio State and think Herbstreit sucks and welcome all who agree with me regardless of the number of seconds they’ve stepped on Ohio State’s campus.
The reasons for the general dislike are well documented—calling out players during tattoo-gate erroneously and never apologizing, dropping Ohio State in his rankings after victories and claiming he was sleepy as an explanation, saying he’d never send his sons to play in a Tressel coached offense, general stupidity about Southern California being superior to Ohio because the colors are brighter or some shit, being an over sensitive drama queen and general weirdo on social media, being lazy and relying on cliches as a commentator to an obnoxious level that makes him not very good at his job... and that’s about all I can think of off the top of my head.
Pretending there are no reasons for grievances is asinine and obtuse.
Edit: Also, I accept Ohio State fans who haven’t stepped a foot on campus who don’t agree with me and/or who like other teams outside of football. Let’s not judge a fan/alumnus by their fandom “credentials” but by their behavior and whether or not they are embarrassing/damaging to the group as a whole.
Herbstreit has shown pretty consistently that he is completely on board with damaging Ohio State if his employer asks him to, and he sucks because of it.

Unfortunately the original thread appears to be gone or behind a moderator wall so I can’t use it as a direct reference, but congratulations on achieving a PennState1985 “social experiment” vibe on this. Quality work.
Too easy. Jeezus, you "fans" really don't have much to offer.
@BB73 was like Sherlock at tOSU, he was "on line"s of coke to finish hiw coursework.I’m surprised they had online classes way back when ; )
Well I’m 4th-generation and I concur with one of the great philosophers that Herbie’s a fake Buckeye, fake as hell... This thread is in the proper forum.I'm a third generation Ohio State alumnus. I'm not a Herbstreit fan, nor am I going to excoriate him for expressing opinions that differ from mine. I neither love nor hate the guy.
Kirk has made a nice life for himself and his family as a telegenic media pundit. There are worse ways to make a living. It's certainly no reason to throw dung grenades onto his porch.
And I don't regard it as anyone's responsibility to cater to my (sports) desires. My wife certainly doesn't; why should some media schlub whom I've never met? If Herbstreit wants to slam, or bolster, Ohio State football, that's his prerogative. He still has done more for Buckeye athletics than 98% of the posters here.
“I can just assure you, Dabo’s more of a man of principle than anything else,” Herbstreit said. “It has nothing to do with Ohio State as far as evaluating film and looking at them and saying ‘Oh man, they’re the 11th-best team.’ Now if you’re Ryan Day and you’re Ohio State, you should spin it that way. You should turn it into bulletin-board material. But as far as the reality, just being honest, Dabo’s just strictly, he’s made it very clear all along, he just didn’t think whether it was Ohio State or any other team, if they’re not gonna play the same amount that everyone else is playing, I think he’s more of making a statement on ‘It’s not fair that the Pac-12 or the Big Ten have a chance to be in the playoff only being tested six times.’ It’s his opinion. It’s what he believes.”
