QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, Brain with a Lunatic Fringe)

I think I am the last to figure this out, but Herbie WILL be one of the ESPN broadcasters calling the game. Why? I have no idea.

But now, my imagination runs wild. If Oregon were to win, it is going to be mighty painful listing to Herbie slobber.

But suppose tOSU wins? What then? Does Herbie begin groveling to B1G? Or do we hear about SEC and PAC-10 injuries? Or how bad the refs are? I am just having trouble visualizing this.

He isn't one to make excuses or blame shit on the refs if ESPN's desired result doesn't come true (and honestly, I don't think they have a desired result for this game). He's a bandwagon jumper. He'll bust off his shirt to reveal an OSU tshirt if they were to win. If Oregon wins....he'd do the same, and make sure he takes that OSU one off, too, revealing an Oregon one.

This. Immediately began to point out "local" knowledge, "There is a party on High Street."

On the wrong side of history and stuck there.

I used to like the guy, but his constant fellating of Oregon during the first quarter has rendered him dead to me. Then constantly being on about how Oregon was "forcing" us to miscommunicate/drop the ball and hand them turnovers. (Admittedly the one hat on ball hit for the fumble might have been them, but butterfingers to us otherwise.)

Then - bizarrely - bigging up Oregon's defensive line while Elliott is gashing them left, right, top and bottom. This reminded me of Butch David praising the Browns' tackling on the day that Jamal Lewis set the NFL single-game rushing record against them.

It was only into the fourth quarter as OSU took the game by the balls that Herbstreit stopped being on about his nonsense and started changing his tone. Sensing the victory and wanting to be on the right side of it. Slimy little bastard. Fuck right off, Herbstreit! I enjoy the victory but can multitask like the poster above and take the piss out of all ESPN scumbags who buy what has clearly always been the party line as far as belittling us.
