QB Kirk Herbstreit (Frosted Quips, Brain with a Lunatic Fringe)

ESPN was smart to get this deal done with "SEC Speed". If Herbstreit was able to hit the market in "open space", he could have made a move. Herbstreit certainly "passes the look test" so he would have landed elsewhere. Losing Herbstreit probably would have sent ESPN directly back to the 1940's, so great move. ESPN may be guilty of "face-guarding" in this situation which is always a no-no in Kirk's book, but it appears to have worked this time.
