I played against him Sophomore year (2007) and he must've improved a ton. He played pretty poor against us and threw an interception for a TD in the first half, and struggled throughout the game and we beat them 28-14 (It was 28-0 at the half). His receivers did most of the work and he wasn't a threat really. Keep in mind though, this was in 2007 so I'm going to guess he's improved a lot since then.

Siems seems worthy

Other than an interception, Justin Siems (pronounced seems) has performed well.

Offensive quality-control coach Nick Siciliano said the coaches didn't know what to expect from him. Siems spent last fall at a prep school after generating little interest in high school in Charlotte, N.C.

"It's funny, but I just met his dad (after practice) and I told him his son has been a very pleasant surprise," Siciliano said. "He has gained a general understanding of what we're doing fast, and he's had more completions here than most walk-on quarterbacks their first (spring)."

With Pryor and backup Joe Bauserman the only other quarterbacks in spring practice, Siciliano said Siems has provided more than just a third arm for passing drills.

"It was good to find a quality guy," said Siciliano, who credited assistant recruiting coordinator Greg Gillum with the find.
