QB Joe Burrow (transfer to LSU, 2019 Heisman Winner, National Champion, Cincinnati Bengals)

Bring on Georgia! Joe Burrow sets SEC passing record as No. 2 LSU rolls over Texas A&M

The last thing Ed Orgeron wanted to see was for his No. 2 LSU (12-0, 8-0 SEC) have to play in anything remotely close against Texas A&M (7-5, 4-4 SEC) after last year’s multiple overtime affair in College Station. Orgeron got what he wanted with LSU blowing out the Aggies 50-7 in a game where the head coach of the Tigers could give an early rest to some key players.

Joe Burrow was one of those players getting a chance to take the rest of the night off in the fourth quarter. He turned in quite a performance as his case for the Heisman Trophy continued to build. Burrow completed 23 of 32 passes for 352 yards and three touchdowns. Burrow also took over the SEC’s passing record for most passing yards in a single season. Burrow passed Kentucky’s Tim Couch, who set the conference single-season passing record of 4,275 yards in 1998. Burrow is now up to 4,366 yards this season. Burrow also passed Chad Kelly of Ole Miss (4,042 yards in 2015) and Texas A&M’s own Johnny Manziel (4,114 yards in 2013) in the process of moving up to the top spot in the SEC record book in the game.

I was watching a YouTube video about the 2016 edition of The Game earlier today and noticed Joe belting out We Don't Give a Damn amidst a bunch of teammates / fans after we'd all rushed the field.

It's always interesting to see how transfers play out and I was reminded how he seemingly did everything right - battled it out, found himself a better situation and handled his exit gracefully, stayed close with his teammates, and is absolutely crushing it elsewhere. Love this guy.

Will still root for the Ahia kids, Kyle, but agree with what you say, 'as long as they don't play tOSU' (paraphrased). Don't want anyone hurt, but hope he throws six interceptions when LSU tees it up against the Buckeyes in the BCS Championship game. Believe things worked out as they should have, Haskins did the Buckeyes proud, and Fields carries it on. Next year is the last act for Fields, and with the WRs in tOSU stable, it should be a run and shoot match. Glad he moved on, as he would have been buried here. But darn it, the Heisman would have looked good in the Woodie.....Go Bucks!

I have nothing against the kid and remember his time as a Buckeye fondly.

Hes not a Buckeye anymore. That label is reserved for those who stay. I don't blame him for leaving...but he left.

I wish him no ill will so long as our paths don't cross but if we play LSU, I sincerely hope we break his dick off

So you don't subscribe to the adage:

For those wondering, Joe wore 'Burreaux' on his jersey before the game as he was introduced as somebody playing his last home game, and got a huge roar from the crowd. He switched to the 'Burrow' lettering for the actual game.

Early in the 4th quarter, Coach O called a timeout to take Joe out of the game to another ovation. Another nice moment for Joe.
Talk about a guy making the most of an opportunity. Wow.

He plays for them, he leads them... but you listen to his answer about The Game a few weeks back... he's still a Buckeye.
Why is Burrow celebrated and Martell (and countless others who left) vilified? It's a strange phenomenon.

Joe can be a Buckeye again when he leaves LSU, I don't really care. But while he suits up for a possible opponent, he's strictly fresh meat for actual Buckeyes.

In my imo, of course
