QB Jack Miller (transfer to Florida)

Love Jacks heart and drive and he has the talent to be a really good starting QB. Just not on this roster I'm afraid. I've been pulling for him since they started recruiting him but the talent coming into Columbus right now is just unreal. He's not the only one getting passed up and there's more to come with the way Day is hammering homers on the recruiting trail.

Since I'm back out near my Alma Mater in Phoenix, I'd actually love to see Jack transfer - on his own accord mind you - back home to ASU. They'd love him here and I think he'd win the job and do very well for the Devils. I'd love to see him also say to hell with all that and just battle his way onto the field for the Buckeyes but damn, that's a brutal uphill fight. I'll just keep rooting him on and see what happens for the guy.

It's going to be a hell of a tough situation for Day in seeing the depth chart. I think we can say with 99% certainty that Stroud is going to be named starter for the opener. Then it sounds like McCord might be pulling ahead of Miller, but I don't think that's quite settled yet. No matter who the next guy is up, I think you might see Miller listed as the backup, or have an "OR" between the two names on the program... not sure that's enough to keep Miller here if CJ is the guy all year, but I hope Jack plays some this year because I think he has earned it and he's a guy you just root for with his attitude and commitment to the team.

I don’t get a lot of this immediate QB transfer BS.

I think people are really reading the room wrong.

maybe he does transfer at some point. But for his career, is he better off learning under Day and practicing against elite players, or transferring to a mediocre P5 team where development won’t be as good??

Day has a great track record with QB’s and I’d argue there are plenty of STARTING QB’s in country that would accept a transfer to OSU just to learn from Day.

People need to relax a bit.

I should state….the blueprint for these guys is likely 2-3 years in program, and a transfer out after being in an elite system. Jack will be here for at least 1-2 more years. Let the kid take it in…..

For his career, it's better that he becomes a starter. Dwayne Haskins was as talented a passer as I've seen at Ohio State.....but only one year starting is really showing in the NFL.

Nobody forced Dwayne to bypass his senior year.

Also, under Day, Haskins, Burrow, and now Fields all developed under his tutelage.

Let these kids develop and grow. I think even Jack would tell u at this point it’s likely he doesn’t start at OSU. That said he’d happy to continue to grow and learn, and likely looks at options when time is right (like Burrow did). And that’s cool….

I just dislike the incessant obsession over it. Kid is getting great tutelage right now as a backup…..more than most guys get starting elsewhere.

Not remotely the point. Dwayne developed under Day, and only started one year. That killed his draft stock, and he hasn't looked great in the pros. So what's your plan for Miller.....to stick around and get developed under Day and maybe start one year?

I'm sure it sounds like fans are pushing him out...but if we're talking what's best for his career, it's not sitting on the bench...I don't care who he's learning from.
