QB J.T. Barrett (B1G FOY, All American, Silver Football Award, 3x B1G QBOY, National Champion)

Forget Braxton throwing. Could we please use him on pop passes? They're barely using that play with any player.
I agree with this statement......but.....

Having Braxton nullifies this advantage for JT. If you start Cardale and still want to get the QB running game going, Miller can just motion over and take some snaps. I think that is the wildcard in Urban's mind. You get Cardale's arm to stretch the field, but you don't lose any of the QB run game with Brax in the game.
You are blocking 11 guys with 9+qb when you use Braxton and Cardale , and while he's electric as a runner, he has never been an efficient operator of the option.

When you use cardale, you ruin what will be undoubtedly the greatest triple option attack in our lifetime with EzE inside and Braxton ad the pitch man (and a thousand variations to counter that)

People confuse Cardale's strength, ability to scramble, and effectiveness on designed qb keepers as being an effective dual threat qb. Braxton was also slippery on passing downs and much more effective when there was no option or only a pretend one. JT is so much more efficient and nasty in the read option game. He makes reads far quicker and better, can wait until the last second to make the defense choose and most importantly, he knows how to pick up 4 yards.

Braxton and Cardale are big play guys that frequently get negative, zero or small gains because they're trying to make too much happen or they are hesitating. JT is much better at taking the small stuff and getting positive, medium yardage to keep them on pace.

Move over Wade. I stand with Josh too.

The problem with this, and alluded to by others, is that Brax behind Center is a dead giveaway that we're running. It also removes a skill player because even if Cardale can catch a pass or two -- you're taking a Samuel or Jalin off the field to do it.
As HUNH it could be dangerous -- though we seem to go slower with Cardale. That was one of the first things I noticed when JT came in the last 2 games -- the pace between plays picks up considerably. I'd like to see them work on that with Cardale.

Just another issue I've had with the play calling. Lots of dead give aways with what we're going to do by how we align our talent...

H back motioning into the backfield? Its a Toss sweep. Can we get a fake more often than not please!!

Braxton at QB? Counter play. Can we run a fake sweep off this just to fuck with everyone eyes being focused on Braxton?

Zeke motioning out of the backfield? Either a QB draw or a rub route. I don't mind this but eventually someone is going to jump that shit

Braxton lined up on the QB's ass? Cardale motions out and Braxton then runs some sort of dive. Oh boy teams are probably just killer confused on this one.

Move both our tight ends? Yeah good bet we are going to trap a DT with one of our TE's.

This is after 2 games is what i've noticed... to me I'll be very interested to see how we play against NIU. Because while I think we win if we don't house them (because we should, and don't give me "yeah but they're soo good") then I'm going to be a little worried if we still telegraph the plays like we have.

Less gadgets and more plays that are staples.

 I thought the same thing. There's no way they think they're fooling anybody on that....right?
I'm just waiting for the "act confused, act frustrated, QB walking toward the coaches, and then snapping to a player (who has his hands out like he's waiting for the ball no less) for a play similar to Adam Sandler in the longest yard (or whatever the hell it is called I get it confused)

We did that last year and I remember thinking did we really think that was legit?

You guys realize that urban is setting this up for the future, right? He's said repeatedly that braxton can still throw. Maybe not way down field, but probably with ease inside 20 yards. Either he won't have nraxton throw a single pass until msu since they most likely won't need to to win a game, and then against msu have braxton run the same play a few times, no pass. Then when/if the game is at a critical point late in the game? Braxton pass.

On the flip side, I wouldn't be stunned to see him break out the braxton pass soon to get it on film so that teams have to game plan for it. But if it were me I save that for a rainy day.

Forget the rainy day. If we can do something that will get Braxton even an extra yard of that space Herbie is always talking about, do it!
