#5 does a ton of things well. He is obviously a gifted runner and scrambler. A lot is made about his passing, and there is no doubt that he could improve in being more accurate on some throws, but I think those critics are ignoring how he threw in the Wisconsin game, and where he made big throws when it counted. No doubt, he fell off when the weather got colder, but overall, he was pretty good.

IMO, what he didn't do well was read the zone play. I'd say he was about 50-60% on that play, but when he misread it, Carlos either made something out of it, or Brax was able to make a guy miss and make it work anyway. If JTB can get that read right 90% of the time, that play will continue to be a staple of the offense.

Beyond that, JT needs to be able to hand the ball to Zeke or Rod, and get the ball to Dontre, Jalin, Devin, et.al. If he can hit a deep one every now and then, the offense will be fine.

I agree with this. JT was one of the coaches' top targets at QB because of the high school offense he ran and how he ran it.

He's not as dynamic as Miller, I don't see the speed, I don't see the moves, I don't see him going 100% each down. I'm sure Meyer and Herman didn't see him as the next Braxton.

But the one thing they give you over a lot of other coaches is the offense to succeed at QB. JT has to get positive yardage and complete fakes/misdirection. He has the skill to get the defense's attention, but I don't see him getting over 500 yards on the ground because he won't get the "explosive" plays. Maybe he's had some time to improve, but I didn't see it in the film or in the spring game.

I am interested in seeing Herman avoid the "Ride Hyde" or "Run Miller" offense. The power rushing attack will still be the base offense, but they have to figure out what the core plays are, and who executes them the best.

The offense is designed to create numbers advantage. Recognize that and limit mistakes.

I see a guy who is not so uber talented that he'll rely on himself, but who will use his tight ends, his slots and his running backs. We may not reach the heights we all had hoped to reach, but it should be a heck of a ride.

I say he is pretty darn talented as he was ranked as the #1 dual threat QB at one point before he injured himself. Most recruits have problem adjust to college...even Myers said so of Braxton. JT will be fine with his ability to pick up the game, and he also has excellent support around him; he needs our support and encouragement.

Ok time for my rant already because at work today I've been reading all the information regarding today non stop and there seems to be a common theme right now that I've had enough with.

I'm tired of the fans and the media that act like it's all over for us. 4 starting lineman, the leading rusher, the leading receiver, and now our QB all gone (that's added onto losing two first round picks on defense)

Here's my response for you all in that crowd. Better jump on the bandwagon now or look horrible mid season when you ask us to stop to let you on because we will be just fine.

All of our offensive lineman have played a lot of minutes (two starters return as far as I'm concerned). As for the WR position? We are deep and after the first few weeks they will realize just how much more explosive this team has become. Talents like Jalin, Dontre, and Samuel specifically will blow the doors off in the beginning and soon these people talking about how do you replace Braxton will not be clamoring "how do you stop this offense".

Now I hear ya on how do we replace our running production but there's massive reasons for optimism here as well. Rod Smith as well as Zeke have the abilities to really get things going but IMO the difference? The speed at which our guys like jalin, curtis and dontre provide motioning into the backfield. You don't think Zeke will find room to run once 17 takes one to the house from 40yds out? What about when 4 gets a swing pass and takes it 70yds do you not think that now opens up Thomas, heurman, Vennet, Smith, Spencer, or Dixon?

Sure losing Braxton blows but are we trotting me out there to throw the ball? No, try the number 1 dual threat recruit from 2012. JT is surrounded by talent and this year unlike last year we will bring it from all angles. If defenses thought stopping a sparadic passing game coupled with a straight at you running game was tough then buckle up because you will soon learn it can be much much worse.

Go Bucks and Prove the vast majority wrong
