J.T. Barrett hearing from multiple schools

When it comes to recruiting, ESPNU 150 Watch List quarterback J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider) keeps his philosophies as simple as possible. If a team wants what he wants, consider that team a favorite of his.
Currently, Barrett has 10 offers, and every school that has offered shares his philosophy.
?I?m looking for people who have the belief of winning a national championship, not just a conference championship,? Barrett said. ?I play football to win it all. If you?re not talking about winning a national championship, we?re not on the same page.?

lite 11 Watch: Rider standout J.T. Barrett

William Wilkerson/ESPN.com Rider (Wichita Falls, Texas) junior quarterback J.T. Barrett will take part in the Elite 11 regional at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday.
Throughout this offseason, we?ll spotlight Class of 2013 quarterbacks who have a shot at making the Elite 11 finals in July. This week we profile Rider (Wichita Falls, Texas) signal-caller J.T. Barrett, who?ll be participating in this weekend?s Elite 11 regional in Arlington, Texas.
Elite 11 Watch Archive
J.T. Barrett considers himself a perfectionist.
So instead of basking in all his on-field accomplishments -- and there?s plenty of them -- the Rider (Wichita Falls, Texas) junior quarterback chooses to engross himself in game film.
During the season, Barrett watched film twice a day, looking for all the mistakes he made.
And during this offseason, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect has worked out nearly every day with the hope of correcting those mistakes.
Barrett believes he?s an improved quarterback since the season ended for his Raiders in December. And that?s a scary thought considering he accounted for 3,119 yards and 23 touchdowns as a junior.
Barrett, who holds offers from the likes of Texas Tech, Nebraska, Baylor, Ohio State and LSU, will get a chance to put his skills on display this Saturday during the first Elite 11 regional in Arlington, Texas. And he hopes he?ll show enough to earn a spot in this summer?s Elite 11 finals.
ESPNHS: When did you first set a goal of making the Elite 11?
Barrett: Last year, I watched the whole thing. I got real excited. I wanted to get in. If you?re there, you?re one of the best in the nation. I?m trying to get to that finale. When I got the invitation to the Dallas regional, I ran to my coach.

IRVING, Texas -- ESPNU Watch List quarterback J.T. Barrett (Wichita Falls, Texas/Rider) will have an extra piece of luggage to carry on the plane on Monday as he heads to Columbus, Ohio to unofficially visit Ohio State.

J.T. Barrett at the Nike Football Training Camp at the Dallas Cowboys Valley Ranch Training Facility in Irving, Texas.
After the weekend he experienced, with more ups and downs than a Six Flags roller coaster, there's no way he's storing his prestigious invitation to the Elite 11 finals in the overhead bins, either.
Barrett shook of a forgettable Elite 11 regional camp performance at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday by playing much more relaxed at the Dallas Nike Football Training Camp, which was held Sunday at the Cowboys' practice facility at Valley Ranch.
The ever-gracious, always-humble Barrett improved so much in a day's span that he was rewarded with one of three Elite 11 invitations over the weekend to the finals.
"I had no idea it was coming because yesterday wasn't too hot," Barrett said. "Today I just wanted to go out there and show that I was listening to what [the Elite 11 coaches] had to say and go out there and compete. That was my main goal."
"I will probably take two more visits after Ohio State, but I am not sure where they might be," he said. "Then I'll make my decision from there. I want to focus on my senior season."
Jdadams01;2132863; said:Correct. Barrett had a bad first day, but then came back Sunday and tore it up. He was hitting every throw. Morris showed a strong arm and great potential, but wasn't even in the final six for MVP consideration and was not even considered the top out of state player there. His accuracy was questionable at best and his footwork left a lot to be desired (which explains a lot of the accuracy issues). Doesn't matter how big your arm is if you can't hit the receiver. From the film I saw of the weekend, he looked like he was trying to put everything behind every throw. Trying too hard to prove something.
