QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. (All B1G, B1G OPOY, Silver Football, Rose Bowl MVP, R.I.P.)

I was just saying the same thing to a couple of my alumni friends. Obviously this is sad mostly on a personal level. But to ignore his legacy as a football player in Columbus would be a disservice as well. Dwayne was the first real QB we've had to elevate us to the level we are at. Without Dwayne, we would be in the Steve Bellisari stone age at QB. Incredible player but hell, it was Dwayne as a person that has us all torn up (see below). I think we will all remember him as a person and player, in that order, but both are remarkable.

Same. It fucking sucks and I will straight up say it, there is no tearing up for me, just a waterfall today...this just hit so hard. You watch DH basically commit when he is like 12 walking through the Woody as an innocent kid that fell in love with Ohio State like we all did. Wholesome as it gets and with the family there. Most of the time a sports celebrity dies and I say the "oh too bad, thoughts and prayers" line. This one is way beyond that, a true kick to the groin and all the way up to the heart. The only other #7's that come close were Germaine and Ginn. As much as I loved them, Dwayne just held a special place in my heart. Really hope he gets a huge tribute in the first week of September, when we unleash a pure fucking beatdown on Notre Dame in Columbus.

My only son died in his 20s - and as a lifelong Buckeye fan - I guess I moved some of my love and pride and hopes for him to these young players. I didn't really understand that until today.

I've been a weepy, triggered mess the whole damn day. Good God.

Woke up thinking I really hope Dwayne knew how many people loved and cared for him, even in the very narrow football world. I know he went through a lot of things in football, and people not saying nice things about him. While he was what, 22 years old.

That is the gut punch that really has me hung up. We didn’t get the chance to give him his flowers while he was here. We didn’t get to celebrate him like we should have. For buckeye fans he was this brilliant flash that came and went so quickly.

It’s just so sad. That maybe in one of the harder periods where he was trying to figure out his career, before the good times and celebration came back again, he’s passed.

Im glad I have this community to be able to express myself on this.

Saw Josh Proctor's post that said Dwayne and Josh were planning a reunion during off-season, and that they had plenty of time. Sad to say, they didn't. Guess this emphasizes (for me at least), that nothing's promised, so make the best use of your time, and don't wait till tomorrow, as it might not be there for you. RIP Dwayne, prayers to your family and loved ones, and peace to all those others hurting for Dwayne's loss. He was taken too soon.

Watching that 2018 scUM game as I type this. ( with a tear in my eye.) Incredible how he shredded that "bestest defense evah!".
Up next, the 2018 PSU game.
One particular moment that I'll always remember is the absolute perfect pass on 3rd and 13 when everything looked bleak in the 2017 SCUM game. You knew right then and there Haskins was special.

That was Jordan Fuller not Proctor
