QB CJ Stroud (All B1G, 2022 B1G QB of the Year, All-American, NFL OROY, Houston Texans)

Shame on us for crucifying this kid
Here is a post I made early in the 2021 season, almost a year before you joined this board, although it’s possible you were lurking during the 2021 season. I was pointing out the ESPN agenda and bias via CJ Stroud and Bryce Young, who won the Heisman that year with the help of ESPN hype and Tank Bigsby running out of bounds. The ESPN piece was done by Trevor Matich, although I didn’t point that out back then.

Stats for 2 QBs who made their first college start last week:

Pass yards..yds/attempt..TD passes..Rush Att…Yards..Total TDs..Turnovers..Pass Efficiency (the official stat, not ESPN's made-up one)

344..........9.1.........4............2......-1.......4..........1.......181.8

294.........13.4.........4............3......13.......4..........1.......222.3

The first is Bryce Young, who all the talking heads are raving about. The other guy plays for tOSU. I saw an ESPN analysis of his first game earlier this week, and they talked about his footwork issues and his improper reads, and only showed him throwing incomplete passes. They didn't bother showing any of the TDs he threw. When they talk about Bryce Young they sure haven't talked about him holding the ball too long on the play where he was stripped and Bama lost possession.

This is all about an agenda for ESPN to influence Heisman voters for the Alabama QB over the Buckeye QB. It will continue all year if it looks like an actual contest between the two.
I was always behind Stroud, as were several others on this board, Yet there are posts in this thread of some doubters early in his career as a starter.

As @Mike80 pointed out, using generalities can be troublesome. And for me it’s admittedly a pet peeve when somebody includes me in a group in which I believe I don’t belong, even if it’s just with the use of a word like ‘us’. A minor change to something like ‘those of us who …’ would likely have avoided a strong reaction to your post.

Are we too picky? Sometimes, perhaps, but I’m just trying to help you fit in here.

C.J. STROUD GIFTS SUPER BOWL TRIP TO MARINE CORPS VETERAN, PURPLE HEART RECIPIENT CRAIG MAZESKA

Although C.J. Stroud will not compete in the Super Bowl, he will still be involved in the championship event through a charitable effort.

On Thursday, the former Ohio State quarterback announced he has partnered with USAA and the Air & Space Forces Association to award Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Craig Mazeska an all-expenses paid trip to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

“Beyond football, my family is one of the most influential parts of my life, and I especially appreciate the lessons learned from my loved ones who have served in the military,” Stroud said in a USAA press release. “Like some in my family, Marine Corps veteran Sergeant Craig Mazeska selflessly served our country, so I’m honored to join USAA and the Air & Space Forces Association to send Sergeant Mazeska and his son to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, where I look forward to meeting them.”
