The Texans' rookie QB is turning heads through three gameswww.cbssports.comTexans rookie C.J. Stroud is off to historic start and here's three reasons why
1. He anticipates throws
2. Pocket presence
3. Third down prowess
Herbert had the best rookie QB season everOn pace to overtake Joey Buckets (yes, I know, shortened season from injury) as the best Rookie season by a QB ever.
I don't recall him even speaking with such passion about his Buckeye team or wanting to make Buckeye fans proud. Am I just forgetting it?
That's all well and good, but I was saying I don't recall him ever speaking with passion. It seems to me (probably incorrectly) like he was just at Ohio State for the nfl training and didn't care for the fanbase or for the team beyond his personal achievements as QB.He has talked about choosing Ohio State repeatedly because of the success of black QBs from Troy Smith to Terrelle Pryor to Braxton Miller, JT Barrett, Cardale Jones, Dwayne Haskins, and then Justin Fields.
CJ grew up seeing black QBs starting for Ohio State and excelling his entire life, and he wanted on that train.
That’s what’s new today. Mostly QBs who even have a sniff of the NFL are now making decisions that improve their NFL chances realistic or not. Ewers year with Dennis and Day..if he didn’t make the most of that shame on him. Ewers may now be a top 20 pick, Penix top 5, Nix top 20. Having a private coach or multiple coaches. That's all well and good, but I was saying I don't recall him ever speaking with passion.
