Game Thread Purdue at tOSU, Sat. Nov. 9th, 12pm ET, FOX

That’s a ton of points to cover. I expect a little bit of a letdown from the Buckeyes and also expect we’ll see some backups get time.
I expect some practice time this week and next week is spent on our last 2 opponents. Is that wise? I dunno......maybe. Seems like it would lead to smaller margins of victories, but victories all the same.

How the hell is the regular season almost over? :(

What the Ohio State football team should expect from Purdue

Coming off of an emotional win, the Ohio State football team plays one of the worst teams in the Big Ten this week.

The Ohio State football team is coming off their biggest win of the season. They were able to take down Penn State 20-13 in what is Ryan Day's biggest win of his career. He needed that win in the worst way and Ohio State now feels like a national championship contender again.

That win over the Nittany Lions helped the Ohio State Buckeyes move up to third in the polls. After all of that excitement, it's hard not to have a letdown when you have to play one of the worst teams in the Big Ten in your next game. That's exactly what this team faces on Saturday.

Purdue comes to town, and they are a truly terrible team. They are just 1-7 on the season. Their only win came against Indiana State in the first game of the year. They also fired their offensive coordinator in the middle of the year. So what can the Buckeyes expect from them?

The Ohio State football team needs to beware of a letdown against Purdue

When you have such an emotional win, it's hard to focus on an opponent this bad. That's what Ryan Day is tasked with getting his team to do this week. Jeremiah Smith won't have too much trouble doing that as a freshman. He just broke Cris Carter's freshman receiving record.

Expect Smith to get more yards in this game. There's really no way that the Boilermakers can keep up with Ohio State on defense. The Buckeyes should be able to get pretty much whatever they want offensively. Purdue is going to struggle as well.

Amen. Also get some of the 2's involved, maybe that will help in case the inevitable injury bug that hits. Cannot afford any more.
These next two games we have to rotate more and get our ones off the field ASAP.

I don’t care about the scores just win and get people rested for the last 3 games of the regular season (hopefully). Then also the post season as well obviously.

It's a big spread but Purdue is awful. 119th offense, 128th defense. I'd take Marshall to beat them by 14+. There will be a hangover, maybe an Akron-esque first half, but they roll in the 2nd or 3rd quarter and put it away leaving time to rotate and rest guys.
Yeah they are crazy bad this year, most years they have beat us or have come close they are not in the 100s on both sides of the ball. I typically get nervous on the Purwho game, but not really this year. We should rock them by 40-50 points even if there is a hangover. They are tragically bad and we are at home. Way too early prediction, but Bucks win 56-10 (with the 10 coming in garbage time). I want to see a curb stomping to prove we are for real and more importantly, give the team confidence moving forward.

I would like to see Sayin sling it some on Saturday.
I just want a boring game.

1. No turnovers
2. No penalties
3. Control the LOS on both sides of the ball (don’t get shut down for 60 yards rushing again).

If we do that we’ll get our starters out of the game early these next two weeks which we sorely need to do. We can’t afford to be in unnecessary dog fights against Purdue and Northwestern in the 4th.
