Purdue at #15 Ohio State, Tues 1/19 6:30 ET on BTN

Huge play was when OSU went up 6 with just over 3 minutes to play, and Young was about a million miles from Ivey, who promptly drilled a 3 when the Bucks were about to blow the game open. Holtmann chewed Young on the sideline, and I really have no idea what he (Young) was thinking.

I think youre thinking of Stefanovich or however the hell you spell it. He was running comically free on that 3, nobody was within 10 feet of him.

No, the play you're talking about happened with just under a minute to play, when Stefanovich hit a three and (also) was wide f'n open b/c Ahrens got screened unlike I've ever seen anyone get screened. The play I'm talking about was with like 3 minutes to go, Ivey made the three b/c his man (Young) fell asleep on like the other side of the damn floor.

Theres no real "go to guy" in tight final minute situations like that. Thats a big problem.

When the game was tied they could barely get the ball in bounds and ended up having to settle for a rushed awful well defended 3 point look

I'm also not a bit fan of just sitting back and letting the opposing team drain a game-winner on your head with like 2 seconds to play. I'd pressure the ball--maybe you get a steal, maybe a turnover, maybe the offense goes faster than it wants to, and you get the ball back a bit earlier (assuming they make the shot). But doing what OSU did--sitting back and letting them take their time--gives you about zero chance to win or tie if they hit the shot at the end (which they did here).
