Whew!!! Just finished a set of 28 pull-ups and I am just warming up!
Time to go bench press 550 lbs. and then run my 4.21 40.

Gotta get all this done now as I head to the orphanage in a bit to spend my weekend with them. I do that every weekend.

You go to a weight room to do pull ups?

Its apart of the "workout"

Depending on what day, we do different muscle groups. We used to have a more expanded workout when we were in there 5 days a week. Shoulders on Monday, Chest on Tuesday, Tricepts on Wed., ect...

But now we are only in there 2 days a week(Tuesday and Thursday) and have much more to fit in those days. We don't have time to do all the other workouts. So we do simple things, like bench press, bench step ups, lunges, squats. IIRC, we do upper body on Tuesday and lower body on Thursday.

Also we at times do what is called "Weighted Pull-ups". Has anyone tried this?

Haha no, regular weight pull-ups are fine for me. We do the same thing, rotating between lower and upper body. And then we do speed training on the days in between.

Yea, we do runs on Monday, Wed. and go lite on Fridays.

We do what is called a "Beep Test". It consist of one minute of running each level. You run one direction and once you get to the line, you turn around and wait for the next beep.

The first couple of minutes are "ok". But as the minutes increase, the number of "laps" increases. After about 6 minutes you are beat tired. At this point we go to 8 minutes. But I feel my teacher is going to go crazy some day and go to 10 minutes.

We start at the volleyball endline and go to the baseline on opposite end of the court. While the regular gym class goes baseline to half court.

One other days we will do 15 minutes of jogging up the steps across the top of the gym down the steps, and around the court.

Its quite a workout. I liked it at the beginning of the year when we were in the weight room every day.

I have heard of them and IMHO I would not suggest them to any client. If you want to do a weighted dip, then we can talk.

I cannot do a pull-up or a chin-up, never could and never will. I won't be trying to do any either.

No chance...I'm exhausted just reading this thread...At one point in my life, I was above average with both chin-ups and pull-ups...That was a long time ago...Some people have muscles on top of muscles, I have injuries on top of injuries...ankles, shoulders, back, knee...all of them screwed up to one degree or another...:(
