A couple places I found said the problem was with the update.

I did a system format to revert to the old software... no dice - it "remembers" update information and loaded the PS3 with it even with no internet connection. So dont try to go and format to revert your software, its a waste of time. I do have an old original router that works so I know my problem is strickly with linksys. I got into the admin config and did a router firmware update - again no dice so trying to get the software update for your router doesnt help either....

Good to hear, now I can go back to a WLAN connection. I got wires all over my bed room since it only worked hard wired.

What is your user name on the PS3?

When are u normally on?

It will be Piney, and right now I haven't played online yet. But when I do it would be after work around 5pm-9pm est. And of course later on Friday nights and all weekend long. Or should I really say whenever the wife lets me

In related news to this thread, I went from a wired connection to my PS3 to our new wireless network here at home. I decided to test the system out, I went to the Playstation 3 shop site and proceeded to download 5 demos for games, between 500mb-1gig in size each, as well as some movie trailers. The PS3 did these all in the background. I then played a few games of NCAA football online. When I finished, I saw that half of the downloads had already completed while I was playing, pretty sweet if you ask me

I just got up the balls to go wireless since Sony boned us with the latest update and screwed up linksys routers.

Well good news, I also have wireless link back now with the 1.90 update.

If you are lurking, yes it seems 1.90 has given linksys users connection back.

I must have gotten lucky, I didn't upgrade to 1.90 till we installed the wireless Linksys router, so I was unaware of any issues  Still thought it was pretty sweet I could pull several Gigs of data through the wireless network, all done in the background, while I played games online.

Ok, so heres what i've found out..

  1. PS3 in the switch dosen't work
  2. PS3 in the modem does work
  3. PS3 in the router, with the switch in the router, does not work
  4. PS3 in the router, with the switch unplugged, does work

Search to see if you can get into the settings for the router. It is usually done in the Internet explorer by typing in your router address like an internet site.
