Which party has deeper pockets to bid on the EPL next year: NBC or FOX?
NBC has Comcast and FOX has News Corp.
Reason I ask is, NBA just stayed with Turner and ESPiN and everything other than the Big Ten is locked up until the 2020's, so it makes the EPL very important to FOX/FS1 (Big Ten is also important). Not a lot of live sports for FS1.
Also, FOX and ESPiN will probably joint-bid again. So it might be NBC vs. FOX/ESPiN again.
I was listening to English podcast several weeks ago. The discussion was about this very subject. They said NBC is in the driver's seat as of now. But they had been hearing that BEiN Sports was also making inquiries.
Keane, whose United career ended following a controversial interview with the in-house TV station MUTV, recounted one particular pre-match team-talk which reflected Ferguson’s ability to read the mindset of his players. “I thought I knew what the group might need, that we didn’t need a big team talk,” said Keane. “It was Tottenham at home. I thought please don’t go on about Tottenham, we all know what Tottenham is about, they are nice and tidy but we’ll fucking do them. He came in and said: ‘Lads, it’s Tottenham’, and that was it. Brilliant.”
Yeah, a bunch of gamblers just went apesh*t with that equalizer by United.
