Premier League (Official Thread)

Parker was shit. Adebayor was shit. Vertonghen was shit. Caulker managed not to score on three wide open headers. Bale erases all of that lousiness. I've been hesitant to say it up to this point, but on this form he's the 3rd best player in the world.

I would have said this even if it ended with West Ham winning 2:1... this was a great game for neutrals. End-to-end action in many instances, some silly mistakes and great goalkeeping at both ends. This one probably could have ended up 4:2 in favor of either team had the ball bounced a little differently.

Seriously though, Bale is incredible.

When you watch him play you can see a thousand ways he can improve his game. And that's the scary part. If he does take those next steps he could become a Top 5 player in the world in short order.

The only reason I don't put him there now is because he still has to show that this isn't a season's run of great form.

To think he used to be a left back

Forgotten: Bale is down the pecking order at Spurs
Alex McLeish is lining up a move for Tottenham defender Gareth Bale when the transfer window opens in January.
Birmingham manager McLeish will have around ?40million at his disposal following Carson Yeung's takeover and, according to the Daily Mirror, will spend ?3m on the Spurs left-back.
Wales international Bale has had a torrid time since arriving at White Hart Lane from Southampton two years ago and has made just one start in the Premier League this season.
Rangers striker Kris Boyd, Celtic winger Aiden McGeady and Sporting Gijon's Michel have also been linked with moves to St Andrew's.

Young players growing into new positions isn't uncommon, but I have no idea why it took them so long to move him to left wing. He always had skill and couldn't defend for shit. I remember the running joke about Spurs not winning in the first 20-something games that he played in.

Looks like Benitez has finally about had it with the fans at Chelsea.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...elseas-FA-Cup-victory-over-Middlesbrough.html

"They have to take responsibility too. If they put players under pressure, they don't create a good atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, they have to realise they are making a big mistake because the rest of the fans would like to see the team in the Champions League next year.
"It would be much better for everyone to have a good atmosphere and supporting the team, backing the players, and that's it.
"I'm the manager and I will be managing the team. I like to manage players and not names, so I will pick my team, and I will make decisions and at the end of the season, I will leave anyway because I am interim like they said.
"Again, they are wasting time, they are wasting time. I have proved in these three months that I want to win every single game.
"I am a professional and I am sure if we win, I will be the happiest man in the world.
"But if a group of fans continue with their agenda and they continue not supporting the team and wasting time with these things, it's there decision, but they are not doing any favours to the team, to the club, anyone.’
