Premier League (Official Thread)

Ba had a chance to finish this one. Went around Sczczhzhzeny (or whatever his name is) 25 yards off his line, then shot it straight into the feet of a covering defender. Shooting against a defender in goal who can't use his hands, you gotta at least get that ball off the ground a bit.

Foul leading up to the first Chelsea goal and a dive for the second. Well done, Atkinson, as always.

Giroud reminds me of one of those annoying British forwards that usually play for promoted clubs, minus the effectiveness.

That's alright, Arsenal had no business winning the game either

Tottenham 0:1 Manchester United.

Seems like Spurs had the edge in possession in the first half, but in looking at the stats the edge is 54-46 to United. I guess it seems that way because when Spurs are in the final third they are slow, deliberate and bereft of ideas so they spend more time dicking around in non-threatening areas. That's the difference in this game so far - United haven't assaulted the Tottenham goal or anything, but they have had quality chances from quality ideas in the attacking end.

I think Spurs have a goal in them if a moment of inspiration arrives. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come though; and I wouldn't be surprised if it did come, but only after another lapse in concentration by Kyle Walker allows the game to be put out of reach.

That was a fun finish. Dempsey with an added-time equalizer to go with his match winner at Old Trafford earlier in the season. :)

4/6 points taken against United this season. I'll take that any time.

Aaron Lennon was tremendous in the second half. Man of the match for sure. Lots of hand-wringing among Spurs fans over being without Vertonghen today (illness) but the CB pairing of Dawson and Caulker was rock solid. I'm glad that AVB is finally seeing the value of a guy like Dawson over William Gallas.

Can't say the kid didn't deserve a nice boot to the ribs for his antics, but no excuse for Hazard to be the one to do it. 12th man, er kid, indeed.

Crazy. What the hell was Hazard thinking? Don't get me wrong, the little shit deserved it, but there's no way a player can win by reacting to those antics.

This is Chelsea though - despite the fact that they bought a shitload of attacking midfielders over the summer, Abramovich will simply splash about 20 million on somebody to provide cover while Hazard is banned.

All I could think of was a van pulling up beside Eden Hazard one day and a "Pikey Reaction" like in the movie "Snatch"

But really, he's not going to be wasting that much time. Still no need to kick him though.

Cantona got suspended for eight months (or so) for kicking a fan. I'd say Hazard gets 3-5 matches by the FA (not any months).
