To take it a step further, I love what Apple brings to the table, but I strongly dislike how they conduct themselves once they gain control there. The app store is one example of this, great step forward for the cellullar world, but some pretty fishy decisions made in what they reject/approve. Or some of their lawsuits (Deja Vu)

As a MacBook Pro user, Apple's "conduct" needs to be discussed IMO. What other company has the arrogance to insist that potential customers call the fucking store to get an appointment to buy their product? It's a very good product, but please. I was most pleased to buy my hardware at Micro Center instead, where the sales staff proved to be at least as knowledgable as the Apple Store trendybots. (Apparently, all male staff at the Apple Store are contractually obligated to wear "guyliner." They all look like refugees from a mosh pit.)

That's just a sales technique! They have been using that forever to sell unique or hot cars. You walk into a store and flash cash and see how quickly they fall all over you. Sale people like to "qualify" customers so they don't have to weed out the gawkers/JOs from the serious.

[patiently]I'm fully aware it's just a sales "technique."[/patiently] Just as I'm aware that "What will it take to put you into one of our Toyotas today?" is just a sales "technique."

I'm one of those who absolutely fucking hates sales "techniques." They are dishonest and manipulative. Use one on me and you've pretty much lost a customer. (Apple didn't lose me entirely, but I refused to buy my hardware from their insufferable "Apple Store.")
