Possible active shooter on campus - Watts Hall

Sure, I understand that people who have supported the narrative don't want to talk about WHY a bunch of students are in the hospital, but they are injured because, in part, that narrative put them at risk by being more concerned about Abdul Razag Ali Artan's feelings than identifying him as a terrorist or keeping him from coming here in the first place. Words do matter, as it turns out - as has repeatedly been demonstrated across the world, and will keep getting demonstrated until we discard the nonsense that refuses to label and name the enemy, welcomes it to come in among us, and worries about offending it instead of killing it. Yes, that kind of stupidity pisses me off.

No, you don't understand, we don't want to talk about "narratives" right now.

Yes, take it to the poli board, there's a reason there are different places to discuss different things.

This shit doesn't go here.

I'm thinking we (i.e. the Ohio State community) are very lucky that a police office was in the area and immediately responded, etc.

This season they have recognized a local police officer during each home football game. Too bad there isn't another home game to recognize this officer. It would easily break the stadium record for loudest/longest cheering/applause, etc.

And that officer's name was... Alan Horujko

The Associated Press reports a police chief says authorities are looking into whether the attack at Ohio State University was related to terrorism.

Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs was asked at a news conference Monday afternoon whether authorities were considering the possibility that it was a terror attack.

Jacobs says, "I think we have to consider that it is."

Authorities say a man purposely plowed his car over a curb and into pedestrians on Monday morning before jumping out of the car and attacking people with a butcher knife. A police officer who was nearby because of an earlier gas leak was on the scene in a minute and shot and killed the attacker.

The FBI and other agencies joined the investigation.

The AP reports authorities are now saying nine people were injured at Ohio State University when an attacker purposely drove over a curb and into pedestrians and then got out of the vehicle and began stabbing people with a butcher knife.

Ohio State Police Chief Craig Stone says eight of the victims are in stable condition and one victim is in critical condition after the attack Monday.

Authorities said two people had been stabbed, four people had been hurt by a car and two others were treated for lacerations.

The injuries to the ninth person weren't immediately clear.

Authorities also said police believe that there was only one attacker.

Authorities said later that it doesn't appear that the suspect used a gun in the attack.

Apparently the only shots fired were by the police officer who killed the attacker.

Maybe I'm not following everything correctly, but I thought that someone pulled the fire alarm. Wouldn't that imply that there was an accomplice?

What is the origin of the name "Horujko"? Anyone know? Has nothing to do with nothing, but I've never run across that name before.

Nigel, my understanding is that the attack began once the building was evacuated, so Artan could have pulled the alarm, walked to his car, and waited. No accomplice necessary.

Maybe you don't want to talk about narratives but clearly there are people who do and it's also important to talk about why these things happen.

No fuck that noise. Why can't we talk about why these students are in the hospital in THIS thread?
I agree. Wtf is wrong with talking about the douche that perpetrated thus heinous act?

I will wait and see, but early indicators are this asshole was a terrorist. My daughter was in harms way. I'm not going to worry about hurting some liberals feelings by not using the liberal imposed correct terminology.

Oh they are already starting the "NOT ALL REFUGEES" jargon, so you can be assured it's more than likely a terrorist ideology motivated act.
