Anyone else surprised by how quickly the conclave chose the Pope? I thought it might be a 1-2 week process and am very surprised to see it end at the end of two days. Makes me think they chose a conservative Pope who will continue the work of John Paul II.

Maybe it was God's will. Except that I don't think God is Catholic, so that probably isn't it.

I think you are either goign to be surprised, or they elected an old Italin guy who won't live long so they can separate "their guy" from JPII

I disagree. It seems like a waste to take a guy in the first round when the only time you will use him is on the occasional Hail Mary.
