I went with A.J. But I could see Carp stepping up. The emotion this defense, this team, is going to be playing with to send these seniors out with a win over those bastards from up there...lights out.

gawd, I cannot wait! is it seriously only tuesday. AAAAARRRRGHH!!

I think Tress will bring it Saturday. I would be on the bucks even giving scUM 20 points...

Troy Smith Leads the team while he and Pittman both get 100 yards. I bet that we use a back up QB at the end b/c this one won't be close.

Bring on the weinereens!!!!

I think we all knw that Smith and Hawk are going to play well...

The bigger question is who is the unlikely guy who makes the big play that turns the game?

folks have no bones about it the game has lots of memories of great skill player games, but if you in anyway shape or form dont think this game will be won or lost by our offensive and defensive lines you are crazy. if we win it will be because our hogmolies in the trenches freed up carpenter, hawk, salley, whitner youboty to make big plyas on defense and the fact our five lineman play as one road grader.

Hmmm

Man, that was a hard one to select!

It seems to me that the passing game has to be successful versus scUM. But we need to have some balance. The D has to have a hell of a game, we need sacks and interceptions. If it's close, special teams will play a vital role.

The whole team has to play well. We have so many good players. I really didn't know who to pick.

I selected Pittman though, because I think this game will require the an extra gritty effort on his part. He may or may not have the gaudiest numbers, but we need a POG effort out of him.

I'm going with Gonzo. I think the secondary will really be focused on the 2 top guns that Gonzo in the slot will have a field day. My prediction.....4 catches 90yds 2 touchdowns.

I went with pittman for a few reasons.

1. He's really been running hard all season, especially as of late.
2. I think scUM will really overfocus on Smith after last year.
3. The scUM defensive line has underperformed this season, they were supposed to be the strength of the defense with big Gabe Watson.
4. Pittman will run through, over, around, and on top of those undersized LB's.
5. The weather is not supposed to be all that great, could be conditions forcing the run more than the pass.
6. Last but not least Pittman will get a number of carries in clock chewing time throughout the 4th quarter once we have a lead Tressel feels comfortable with.

i have to go with troy. as troy goes, so does ohio state.

however, we may never know who the true potg will be: josh huston. not allowing breaston to return a kick could very well mean 3, 7 or more points fewer for scUM. i'm not saying that breaston would return one on us if huston didn't kick it for a touchback, but returning the ball once to, say, the 50 instead of placing at the 20 could be the difference in a close game. huston receives praise for his ability to kick it deep, but i still believe that his ability is as crucial to the team's play as virtually anyone else's.

edit: then again, our defense turns into a different animal once the other team gets past midfield.

Hopefully Antonio Pittman gets the laurels. Establish the running game and all else should fall in the Buckeyes favor. Give Antonio the rock till the Vulvalinas Defense drops - 150+ yards and 3 TDs later Buckeyes add 2 touches through the air and extend a small lead to win going away.

wow.... this might be the most difficult poll yet.

ginn could be a good choice here. i think we will see him throw the ball this week. might even see him at qb for the second time this year. he looks better and better each week on returns so...

carp is another good one. i honestly think we will see a ton of carp against scum. lb, de, and te. a td catch and 10 or so tackles would make for a strong case.

whitner and hawk are very easy to choose because well... duh..

the qb is always an easy choice because regardless of the quality of his play, the qb is ultimately blamed for the W or the L. smith could have the worst game of his career and still be named the mvp if we win. so thats a no brainer.

people who should get a more serious look but won't:
pitcock - the middle of the dline never ever gets the credit they deserve and there performance is so critical to the outcome of a play.
houston - even without a game winning field goal. if he puts everyone of his kickoffs in the end zone he will have nullified a very dangerous return team. returns in this game will be critical. the performance of houston will go a long way to determining which team has the steeper hill to climb.
mangold - duh.
