Why is the Board Traffic slow lately?

As for Tibs, he knew the rules concerning the warning system. I can't just bypass the rules just because I like Tibs...

Are far as you listing "Mob members" no certain individual came to mind except Mili. It's as if whatever he says and does, everyone blindly follows. Usually he's spot on rare occasions he seems to go overboard but everyone still follows.

None of those people you mentioned even crossed my mind, if you don't believe me, that's fine, but they didn't.

If you don't think there is some "mob mentality" on this board then you are mistaken.

I think there can be a bit of a "mob mentality", but I think the majority of that is newer posters trying to fit in, and most of even that is overblown. This board is an elite board, for conversations and discussions that cannot happen on other boards, either because the posters aren't mature enough to handle it, intelligent enough to conduct it, or the board simply won't allow it. Witness the political forum here. I do not think this is a bad thing. We cannot have the discussions we have if we tolerate the idiocy that a lot of morons post. So, we, ie, the mob, stop it.

Which is why I said a few pages back thanks for assuming we have our own opinions.

Maybe people "blindly follow" Mili so "often" because underneath the gruff approach he's right?

I don't agree with everything Mili says, but I find myself agreeing with his understanding of how BP runs nearly 100% of the time.

I don't find myself in agreement with 89 that often (On the poli board) but I sure don't feel like he and (Just to name some Cons) Ekeen and Grad and Karl Rove are in bed together and "out to get me"

The problem is that I would like to be able to leave on avatars and sigs so I can spot check posts visually and recognize which are worth reading and which ones aren't with a graphical cue. Turning off one or the other wouldn't be an issue. Turning off both however makes the board un-user friendly. Because of this, I cannot customize my BP to be whatever I want it to be, unless I add everyone with a problematic sig/avatar to an ignore list.

If someone can make a compelling argument for why anyone needs a 640x480 sig graphic of tits, ass, or whatever the hell then I might stipulate. But so far the only excuse anyone has provided is 'because we can', and frankly, that's a bullshit argument. In either case, it doesn't bode well for the argument that BP is what it is because the posters are intelligent and mature. What purpose do titties in every thread honestly serve? None. It forces many users to have to disable a lot of usability features because a few users can't have an intelligent discussion without soft core stimulation.

What we have is a bunch of members waiting around writing these things off as other peoples' problems, pushing the limits of acceptable use, and taking an 'if you don't like it then fuck off!' attitude. It seems as though a few are agreeing to change content if and when a rule is hammered down, which is counter to self policing. Voluntary self policing doesn't work if people don't actually self police.

I haven't really seen any evidence of that. Haven't a couple people already changed their sigs/avatars? There weren't really that many that were objectionable, IMO.
