Charges dropped against former Penn State RB Scott

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Rape charges, and all others, were dropped Friday against former Penn State running back Austin Scott.

The decision comes after the state Superior Court ruled earlier in the day that jurors could hear testimony about the alleged victim's involvement in a separate sexual assault case in 2003. The defendant in that case was acquitted.

The Centre County district attorney's office said it withdrew the charges because there was "no reasonable likelihood" it could meet the burden of proof.

Contd...

BOSTON -- A Boston College football player has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and breaking and entering with an intent to commit a felony for an on-campus incident.
A Brighton District Court judge on Tuesday ordered 20-year-old Brady Smith to be held on $50,000 cash bail and to stay away from the alleged victim and college property.
Smith, of Finksburg, Md., has been in custody since his weekend arrest. College officials have suspended him from classes and the football team.

grams. It was 'less than' 20 grams.

That's like half-a-bag, maybe $200, tops.

Now if it were 20 ounces, that's a bit more weed than one man needs for his personal, recreational stash.

Whatever.

Now we know why his teammates voted him the most valuable player on the team.

20 grams is about 7/10 of an ounce. If you had some really good stuff you might have paid 200 for an ounce but that would have to be some stuff that legends are made of. In one bag, you would would be hard pressed to not get probation for simple possesion. The .45 caliber handgun on the other hand, that's is going to be bad news.

More info. Other guys in the car with him. Dope in Prednisione prescription bottle with his name on it, so hard to say it was somebody else's dope under the dash. Admits it is his gun. Shoulda shut up and hung it on his home-boys.

From EDSBS:

The fun at Pitt we alluded to yesterday begins to emerge piece-by-piece. In fact, the facts are so sketchy at this point that the fact-ish types at The Pitt News can’t even confirm that Sherod Murdock, a redshirt freshman safety suspended from the football team indefinitely yesterday, was the player involved in the “incident.” Fortunately, we are strictly about “truthiness,” and one of our crack sources reports that the incident went something like this:
...
Murdock was running through the halls wearing only his boxers wielding a three-foot machete screaming “I’ll kill all you motherfuckers”. He had blood all over his face and hands from the earlier fight at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house. The Wannstache was woken up from his home and brought to the scene to talk the player down before they had to send in SWAT, which they did.
