Police/Legal Blotter (stop breaking the law, asshole!)

Ummm....Pete is doing exactly what he should be doing. Stand by the player, wait for all the facts to come out before making a decision.
Innocent until proven guilty still applies, doesn't it?

I disagree.
If this was one of our players, JT would have already suspended him for a game, or he currently would be getting reamed on ESPN for not suspending him...

We'll see. I definitely don't agree that "Pete is doing exactly what he should be doing." And let's just say that I'm not holding my breath when it comes to him imposing any kind of discipline.

My point exactly. And that's exactly how I'd want JT to handle the situation, in order to send the message that being out to all hours of the morning getting arrested for batter is not the way the football team should be representing the university and/or the state.

Ummm...at least one coach took the high road and disagreed with you, suspending the QB for a huge game against Tennessee, which was the week following the QB's arrest for DUI.

I don't see the word suspended in that article. It was quite normal that Croyle, the Bama starter, played the whole game in a 6-3 contest.

Do you have something else that indicates the backup was suspended for the game?

Ex-NFL QB Jim Harbaugh arrested for drunken driving
November 2, 2005

ENCINITAS, Calif. (AP) -- University of San Diego football coach Jim Harbaugh was arrested early Sunday on a charge of drunken driving after being stopped for running a stop sign.

Harbaugh, a former NFL quarterback, was released after 7 1/2 hours at the Vista Detention Facility. He is to appear in court in December.

``I'm upset at myself about it, and more embarrassed for everyone else around me, the team,'' Harbaugh said Wednesday. ``My No. 1 concern is the players. I'm trying to set a good example for them. There's a consequence for making poor decisions and now that applies to me.''

Harbaugh said he told the team about his arrest.

``I'm going to work every day from this day on to turn it into a positive,'' he said. ``That's not the script I would write to make a positive statement, but that's what I'll work to do.''

Harbaugh is in his second season as coach of the non-scholarship, Division I-AA Toreros. USD is 8-1 and won the Pioneer Football League North Division last Saturday with a 63-21 victory at Valpariso. The Toreros will host Morehead State in the PFL championship game on Nov. 19.

The school issued a statement Wednesday that read: ``Allegations of this nature are indeed very serious, however, it would be inappropriate for the university to make any comments on Coach Harbaugh's situation, especially since the matter is not yet resolved. It is the university's practice not to discuss personnel matters publicly.''

Harbaugh will be on the sideline for Saturday night's home game against Chapman.

With regard to USC and Pete Carroll the media is absolutely love sick.

Dennis Dodd hates everyone and if that's the best he's going to come up with regarding this situation it just proves my point.

The fact that this kid missed no time at all speaks volumes to Pete Carroll's priorities. They have been decimated by injuries in the defensive back 7 this season. A player would have to murder someone to get benched at this point in the year.

He was arrested on Nov. 3, but the article doesn't clearly state whether he played in their games after that. He was released on bond on Nov. 5th, and they had a 6 p.m. home game against Houston that day.

UCF cornerback Ellis suspended

Posted: Monday November 14, 2005 3:49PM

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Central Florida cornerback Ron Ellis has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested for sexual battery.

Authorities said Monday that the 20-year-old junior is accused of sexually assaulting a woman Nov. 1 while she was drunk. Ellis was arrested two days later and released Nov. 5 on $5,000 bond, UCF police Sgt. Troy Williamson.

An arrest report said Ellis and others were drinking in the woman's apartment when he followed her into her room and touched her inappropriately.

UCF Coach George O'Leary said he would not determine Ellis' future until the school's student disciplinary panel has reviewed the case. Ellis has been ordered not to consume alcohol, use drugs or have contact with the alleged victim.

The former Palm Bay High standout started nine games for UCF and appeared in 25 games in three seasons.

Nice Move Petey!

Its michigan week and thats where we are focusing, however, after reading this article I was appalled by the "promotion" Pete Carroll gave this LB. It appears that no action was taken because the LB'er depth at USC is depleted. They say the cream rises to the top well thats also true with turds floating on the top!

Here's the link.
