I said I'd never come back here - well I just popped back on to report that Ginn is leaving -- of course because there are those who actuall LIVE on this msg board that has already been reported. (Have any of you ever played college football or are you all dweebs like nfl buck?? :tongue2: - nice pic)

Anyway - I know what I'm up against here -- all these "experts" and "insiders" , Tressel's good friends , etc. Of course none of you are over 5'9"

Anyway, here it is -- I actually emailed and got a response --I know that won't be believed by all of you experts, but for some insane reason I'm sharing it with you supposed buckeye fans anyway. Whoever got back to me in the email (wasn't Ted -- maybe his dad? - who knows) was very cordial and appreciated my support and imput. They got a kick out of my statement that I tried to rally buckeye fans on the net to get a petition for Ginn to stay , but most of them would rather bitch about buckeye football than do something positive. He reminded me that the real buckeye fans aren't always to be found on msg boards -- good point.

Bottom line - this was a very tough decision for Ginn -- not something decided until this weekend - regardless of what all you "experts" were reporting. I actually replied to the email with more of my reasoning for Ginn to stay -- the reply I got was that it wasn't about the money (ok - go off on that "experts") or injury , but whether Ginn's business was finished at OSU. Basically I don't think Coach Tressel was going to use Ginn in all the ways he should if Ginn came back -- that's just MY guess from the email I got. So , in other words, the Ginn contingent decided that their business was done at OSU. That email came yesterday -- I had said in my email to talk to coach -- if your not THE MAN next year then leave. Who knows what exactly happened , but in the last email I was told that it was a very difficult decision and its something that you'll never know. Who knows if Ginn comes back its a fantastic year for him next year - who knows if he'll be a great pro -- none of us know but they made the best decision they could. That's basically what the email said.

I am not an "insider" or "expert" -- I've played college football (division IAA) and I'm a huge Buckeye fan who has written for one website in the past and is looking to hook on with another soon. I've never emailed a player in my life nor do I intend to ever again. I just had a different slant on Ginn coming back than everything else I was reading and decided to pursue it. I of course didn't get any backing on the net - - what I thought would be a fun diversion from the NC mire just gave the "experts" a chance to spew their frustration at me - and for what -- because I love Ginn, the Buckeyes and I realized that it MIGHT be a special year for him and the buckeyes if he were to return. I'm just glad my email was much better received by the people that really matter -- it turned out to be an interesting experience anyway -- and I'm glad I learned the truth and didnt just listen to all the "experts" on the msg boards.

duh...if no link is provided, this will act as the default... http://www.ncaa.org/library/rules/ba...l_archive.html

Hello everyone,

I am brand new here, just found this forum last night. I wanted to introduce myself, subject myself to the ridicule, and take my lumps like a man before I am (hopefully) accepted to your clan.

I will just say it flat out... I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Michigan. I grew up a Wolverine fan my entire life. I never hated the Buckeyes as much as I should have, but I loved the Wolverines more than anything.

I went to UM and found that it was nothing like the utopia I thought it would be. Ann Arbor is a toilet, the people are stuck up and snotty, and the school is a hellhole. The place is so intensely liberal that one cannot go through the middle of campus to get to class without being harrassed about how evil white people, men, Christians, and heterosexuals are. I couldn't wait to leave.

I applied to and was accepted to Ohio State for grad school, which has the top program in my field. I thought the switch was going to be rough, but it hasn't been.

I bought my first Ohio State t-shirt at Longs a couple weeks back, and when they asked for picture ID, I had to use my UM Student ID. Buying that T-shirt was one of the hardest things I ever did, but I find myself coming to terms more and more with the idea of being a Buckeye.

Columbus is a great town, OSU's campus is gorgeous, the people are down to Earth, and I have to say that I am looking forward to spending the next 5-6 years of my life around people who HATE UM ALMOST AS MUCH AS I DO.

I will probably never share the intense hatred of UM athletics the way that you guys do, I wish UM well athletically, and when the two teams play, I want the one with the better chance of winning the National Championship win. But if they go into the game 11-0, I want OSU to beat them every time!

Attached is a photo of the side of my computer.

I'm thinking about starting a website dedicated to Nike Jordans... and Texas Longhorn fans who went to Ohio State and have weight problems because they're addicted to oatmeal.

Anybody here interested?

Any idea how I can get the word out?

Had a feeling someone would react like this.

Thankfully, you don't appear to represent your entire school. If you go there/here.

I am not a turncoat. If you had the experience at UM that I did, you would understand. UM is a great school with great academics and nothing can take away from that. But the place is a hellhole, and I was miserable my entire time there. I like OSU better.

I didn't "switch sides" at all. I prefer OSU to UM. And even if I had switched sides, it wasn't because it was "convenient," I wore full Avalanche regalia in Detroit from 1995 on (I was wearing Nords stuff before then). I had people threaten to kill me, pull knives on me and try to run me off the road. If I loved UM, I would wear my UM stuff every day and get season tickets to OSU athletics so that I could wear my UM stuff and root against OSU.

It's not about convenience or fear, it's about me having school pride and wanting to go somewhere where I feel accepted. OSU the school has accepted me, and most of the fans seem to have. If you don't, that's your cross to bear. I should warn you, however, that you look immature when you rant like you did.

Ann Arbor is a whore. The helmets are classic, just like OSU's. I can see how Schembechler would be seen as a traitor. The women do tend to be ugly, that is DEFINITELY true, although there are some hotties (my girlfriend included). The cheerleaders are ugly for cheerleaders, but attractive for UM students (which isn't saying much.) The whole state doesn't suck. Most, yes. All, no. Remember, Ohio has Youngstown, Akron and Toledo.

The blue hats with the yellow M are actually classy. I am trying to find a black hat with a grey "O" with red outline, but it's just not happening. I don't think bright red is an attractive color to wear, so I am somewhat limited in the OSU gear that I can wear.

That said, I did just order an OSU hoodie to wear when I go pick up my girlfriend at UM on the weekends. I had people insult me left and right for wearing a Notre Dame hoodie, I can't imagine the reception when I show up in Bucknut gear.

Screw 'em, ya know?

No, I can't call them "scUM" or Meatchicken. TSUN? maybe. Liberal Hellhole? Definitely. University of Arrogant Rich Kids? For sure.

Killernut, you may have been an OSU fan longer than I have, I don't deny that. You may be more passionate about OSU than I am, I don't deny that either. But your hatred for UM pales in comparison to mine. You may have a blind hatred for the school based on athletics, but you haven't been personally wronged by the school.

I hate UM more than you love OSU. I just don't have a complete hatred for their athletics. Let me sit in the Horseshoe and see some fans who actually care about the game and make some noise, and maybe even that will change.
