Seems like as I cashed in nearly every “expert” was saying we TCU will remain #3 and we would be 4.

Which means we get Georgia.
Beggars can’t be choosers.

My thought is we need to at least be involved in a 4 quarter game v Georgia.
If we get Michigan, Day needs to beat them. Period.

Lest I side with Jax and it becomes a matter of when not if Day will be replaced.

Well, Jax already has Day’s head on a picket sign with an arrow through it just in case.

I think CFP will want the rematch…I believe we are going to be #3 seed.

My question is TCU or Bama at #4….I personally lean towards it being Bama.

This ensures a Big 10 vs SEC championship.

They have already set this up this morning, leaning the conversation toward TCU vs Bama for the 4th spot instead of Ohio State. Someone at CBS has Ohio State at the three spot as well. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Reposting from other thread

The silly part of all this is asking why did a USC team whose loss was to a low ranked Utah hold the spot over a team who lost to the #3 team.

The fact that they’re now talking about how Bama can get in, even over us should speak volumes about how flawed this all is.

It's not flawed. It's just corrupt.

I really want the rematch.
First off, it's playing with house money. We can either crush their hopes and dreams, or we have to wait until next Thanksgiving anyway.
Second, it either cements the importance of this game for Day... or it advances the timeline of finding somebody who gets it.

I'm all for redemption arcs. I like Day and Stroud as people. So give us a 2nd shot at them.

I personally just don't think they can replicate what they did last week. That was a game where we should've been up 20-3 by the second quarter. 2 quarters and 5 plays later we lose.

We bet the house (literally) that JJ couldn't keep our defense honest and unfortunately we were wrong. I think Jim Knowles is a very good coach and I think he'll adjust to make them earn their points this time.

I just don't think they're very good on offense outside of that offensive line. I really think they're the worst team in the top 4 and that includes TCU.

Which brings me to the biggest reason I want that rematch... I think TCU is going to beat Michigan so if we don't get that rematch we aren't getting it until next November regardless of how we do vs Georgia.

If we ignore context and just look at it from a pure historical perspective, has any team NOT drop a spot in any poll after losing? Because if TCU stays at #3 they might just be the first in the BCS, CFP era.
I can't recall the exact teams but I'm pretty sure it's happened. Still though I don't see any justification for dropping TCU below OSU.

David Pollack made a solid point that all year the committee valued Ohio State’s resume more than TCU with a similar record. They thought we werr more talented and with better wins. The only reason they had justification to put them above us was because of the loss. If they choose to go back to resume comparison, they should have the justification for OSU at 3, and get that big ratings boost of a guaranteed rematch of The Game.
